Map update:

Hey everyone

I've spent a couple of days improving the first map for Rooks Keep. I'll go into a bit more detail with it here:

In this area, i've improved the backdrop and the lower area leading towards the door.

This towering structure is the castle; the primary focus of the map. Our pieces will slay each other near the entrance to the large edifice. Nothing like a little bloodshed to welcome guests.

Here i've been tweaking the backdrop as well, and mostly the floor of the main area. I spent a while learning to sculpt nice looking rocks (which seems to have worked, i think), which will prove useful for some other map ideas i have

Shiny! You can also see some nice moving banners (UDK cloth is cool!)

Anyway, there is still some more work to be done on this environment and map. I mainly want to add a a few tile-breakers, some neat small details (foliage, audio, grime, etc) and improve the backdrop some more. This environment will be used for other arenas as well.

We'll be revealing more pieces and info on the new modes quite soon as well, so stay tuned

Oooh, loving it! I particularly love the greens! Very pretty. I can imagine some ivy growing on the walls.

So let me get this strait, Rooks Keep is a all out, balls to the wall, full contact, death match chess game???

In one mode, it's normal Chess but with lots of blood and animated pieces doing the chopping/stabbing/frying/bashing.

The other modes are a little different, but we'll be revealing those shortly

So far the graphics look awesome.
And I think I better bone up on me chess game, its been quite awhile.
I know your not in the states, will it be available to buy online download or mail order.

This is supposed to be a Steam game

But we'll also be looking at other online distributors (Impulse, GG, GoG).

Will there be a multi-player aspect of this game or will it be only against a computer?

Is it BW style Where they have Machine Guns

And another mode Where they have G5 Rocket launchers

The other modes? They're awesome. You guys will love them! Everyone will love chess when Rook's Keep rolls out.
