Ok, instead of waiting to bloody producing longer more fancy trailer-like videos, we've vowed (fist hitting, blood drawing and all) to just post small feature videos as we work without the production frills.
Here's basically a start and a test to establish a pipeline for this.


In this video you can see the mid-game menu and the character selection menu in some action.

The compression has dipped it in the fugly bucket, but you can still see what's going on.
Notice how we even got to adding animated elements to the UI.
One of the big things about this UI systems is that it is NOT ScaleForm! It is our own system that was built completely from scratch. We weren't too keen on ScaleForm because it added another interface, lacked flexibility and did not lend itself to fast iterations. It might work better for large teams to be able to partially hand UI work to a Flash coder, but didn't make sense for a small team that has capable UScript coders.

We've put a lot of effort into making our menus as intuitive, effective, straightforward to make and, above all, SOLID as possible and I think we're on the right track.

We'll try to go into more detail and showcase more of the features with videos as we go.

All hail the sainted RS UI. That which can easily be expanded on as needs dictate. :pray:
