Just bought the game ten minutes ago. Game seems fun if a little "clunky", and I love the premise, long-time admirer of multiplayer melee action games, but for me, fighting bots got boring back in 2004, and multiplayer is the main draw. Very disappointed that there aren't even EMPTY SERVERS available for me to join. As developers surely you should run at least one, otherwise people like me are going to end up feeling ripped off and coming on your forums to bitch about it.

And if the problem isn't the fact that there are no servers, but that I just can't see them, well, in my estimation that is enough of a problem (considering, so far as I am aware, this is an arena game modelled heavily after Quake/UT etc) to consider the thing "unreleaseable", and you should work on that as your top priority IMO, because if that is the case then what you have now is unfinished and broken and not at all competitive with other released titles, even indie titles. I remember having more success with Magicka at release, and that game was notoriously bad for buggy multiplayer.

I was going to buy another copy for my friend tonight so we could have a little back and forth but if I've no guarantee that even a listen server will work, judging by other threads here, I think I'll spare it.

Much enthusiasm for your game, mind you, and I am totally predisposed to enjoy it since the design is modelled completely "after my own heart." I am no game designer, only an "experienced connoisseur," but immediately, even after my cursory ten minutes, a few things seem a little off. I will play a little more, and afterwards maybe be able to offer a little more incisive criticism, but I felt compelled to come here and voice my disappointment about the non-existent multiplayer immediately.

Glad you like the premise of the game.

Yes, multiplayer servers have been a big problem for us. Partly because we are are rather obscure indie developer, so there are not the same numbers of online players hosting as there would be with a more well known game, but it is also a problem to get our own permanent servers up. The trouble is that we are in Africa and running servers locally is impossible due to the lag with players who are mainly in Europe and America.
But we will continue to work towards hopefully getting servers set up in the EU and NA.

Well I hope you sort it out; for a competitive game though I don't think you can rely on players hosting their own servers. I am sure there are companies in the USA and the EU that would work with you to set up a server or two.

I've just been playing for an hour, and although it takes some getting used to I really like the gameplay a lot, it's definitely a lot of fun. The parallel with chess is inspired.

I really hope you reach a wider audience with the game and find some sort of solution for multiplayer.

PS: You should put more effort into marketing the game I guess, I'd never heard of it until I stumbled onto it by accident. It's an awesome concept and people (like me) would buy it if they only knew about it.

We have been doing lots of marketing, as much as we can on our end. If people don't post the news we send, well, not much we can do about that :D I've written many emails and sent many keys :|

But indeed, we shall be trying to get together what we can in the coming days :)

Also, I hope with the big splash Viscera has made, that some people will check out RK too.
