For me, VCD is ridiculously laggy, to the point of it being unplayable. Do you have any suggestions?

Specs:
AMD FX 8350
AMD Radeon HD 7870
16gb 1600mHz Ram
Antec 750w PSU
Windows 8 Pro 64 bit

Hi! :)

Have you tried any possible solutions in the FAQ yet? :think:

Q: The dark gods conspire to slow the game's FPS to a snail's pace, what will remove this curse?

Fortunately no sacrifice is needed, you can instead try adjusting the settings in the options menu. Failing that, find the UDKSystemSettings.ini file in your game's "\UDKGame\Config\" folder.
Try setting some of these values to false and then launching the game again:

Bloom=false
DynamicLights=False
DynamicShadows=False
MotionBlur=False
bAllowLightShafts=false
LensFlares=False
FogVolumes=False
bAllowD3D9MSAA=False
AmbientOcclusion=False

You can also try manually running the Unreal Engine 3 redistributables installer for the game and then launching again; you can find the UE3Redist.exe in the game's "\Binaries\Redist\" folder, that's the one you need.

Also consider updating your video drivers, and Direct X manually should none of the above work for you.

None of the above worked, I've set everything to low, it's at the smallest resolution and windowed, I completely reinstalled the game, my drivers are up to date, as is DirectX, and I get 13 fps max. I am very confused about the poor fps count.

Never-mind, I figured it out. I think there should be something that tells first time users to restart their system, that's what fixed it for me. :-[
