It shouldn't be installing the Mac version on Windows unless he's signed in to the Mac beta.
Have him sign out if he is, and then install the game again.

That may certainly fix the connection issue.
If not, see below.

As for port forwarding. You say you can't do it?
Have you tried switching who hosts and who connects, might work better the other way around.

Otherwise, maybe Hamachi or Tungle works without port forwarding. I'm really not sure.
If the Steam connection thing doesn't work, then I'm afraid port forwarding is quite important. :?

Have you tried connecting directly to your friend's IP address using the Direct Connect dialog, even without ports forwarded, that may still work.

Ok, first, how do you see you are in the mac beta or not, he say he is not in it but he is not sure. And we tried hamachi and tungle, they dont work and we also tried him to host, dont work for me and one of my friend who have viscera and work. When my friend who have viscera and work in multiplayer host I can join im but not my friend who cant.

The Mac beta is "opted-into" via the Steam client.

If you right-click on "Viscera Cleanup Detail" in your Steam game list and go to "Properties", there is a "Beta" tab. Make sure "Opt out of all beta content" is selected.

There should be no other explanation for him having Mac content installed in-place of normal Windows PC content.

He is not in it, we tought he have the mac version because when he go on the game files he dont have the same files I have. He have one file name OSX. So we thougt it is the mac version.

Hmm, I'm still slightly confused.

So he has the PC version of the game, correct?
His game runs without problems, no crashing, etc?

The only problem is that the two of you cannot connect in multiplayer?
And you are unable to forward ports?

If all of the above are true, then my only other suggestion might be join someone else's server if possible. Not sure why it wouldn't work for you normally, there must be something different about your friend's system/network.

Without the ability to port forward on the router, ones options for getting around issues are limited.

You could also try disabling your firewall and/or your anti-virus temporarily.
Better still, add VCD to both the firewall and anti-virus exceptions list.
Windows Firewall also has port forwarding options.

Try those if you can.

He cant connect to other people server, he just cant click the friend and multiplayer button. And we tought it his the mac version because he dont have all game files i have. I have alot of files but when he go on is viscera game files he only have 2 files, one name OSX and one other. And yes he have the pc version but mac. Its like he dont have all the game files. When he go on steam and go on verify the integreality of the game its say he have all the files. I gave him the idea to install viscera on another pc and put the game files on is normal pc. I dont know if it might work.

Whaaa...? :?

There shouldn't even be a file with OSX anywhere in the name in VCD's OSX build, let alone the Windows PC version.

I'm still confused about what's going on.

Just to be clear, if he is on a Windows PC, there should be no OSX files.
If he is on an OSX PC, there should be no Windows files.

OSX and Windows PC versions of the game are NOT compatible with each other and cannot connect in multiplayer as the game does not support Cross-Platform Multiplayer.

The fact that he says he can't access the Friends and Online game lists on his PC means he has the OSX version of the game, and if he's not on the beta, he obviously has an OSX computer(or is emulating one using his Windows PC).

Either way, if you are on windows and he is not, then you two cannot connect. :-\
