As I have mentioned before, I am hosting a fun online match of sorts with the Ballistic Weapons based ABA clan. Those guys hold the largest consistent online player base and even host the community content along with the regular guns!

Of course, to the victors go the spoils, so I will be coding up and releasing a separate, all-new community weapon! This weapon will very likely be golden and will very likely be labeled and configured to the likes of the winning team. :)

Match Date: March 26th at 9PM EST.

If you're interested in joining us, please post here! Because if I am not able to gather enough people to play online this event will simply fizzle away, nobody will get any presents, fun will not be had, and hearts will be broken.


Details:
We will be making use of the Ballistic Weapons Community server hosted by our very own Kaboodles and Captain Xavious! It has been upgraded for the task and now runs both BW V21 and BW V25, which can be selected via a cool voting tool. Simply press Scroll Lock to bring it up and vote. :)

The match will take place on both this server and ABA's server, and will feature equal parts of tactical gameplay in the form of Conflict and CTF, and arcade gameplay in the form of TDM with extra speed. Beta community weapons will also be appearing on the community server, so those of you with experience with Bulldogs and M30A2s should be able to kick extra butt. ;)

We will be starting at the Ballistic Community Server at around 9 PM EST, and the details of said server can be found below.

Hmm. Both are American servers, and both are extremely vulnerable to weapon whoring due to unpredictable balance and super/AV weapons. I'll sit this one out, please update your list accordingly.

Alright, noted.

The match is going to be more about fun than winning, and balance really shouldn't affect that, but I'm not going to judge anyone's opinion of fun. Just for the record though, Kaboodles' server does host the most complete balance pack to date.

And how much of us doesn't want that ? but my parents never played with me with table games and cards, so video games are a dream for me. I tried with my sister but FPS is too stressful for her, so she plays the sims (probably the only game she like with theme hospital and some old snes RPGs)

I think I may (really may) have a go at this one. It's been an age since I've played 2k4 online, and I'm dying to try it again. Go on. I think I'll have a go. It's just, you're all American, and I'm not, so let's hope time differences don't get in the way. God knows they do on TF2.

Nice! Updated the list. :)

By the way, what do you guys think about holding this on a Saturday? Something like the 12th or 19th? I think a weekend game would be the best for most people.

Also, do you guys have any preferences for maps? Right now I'm thinking of having these three:

Ballistic TDM: DM-Deck17
Ballistic Conflict: DM-Blackhawk
Ballistic Conflict: CTF-AbsoluteZero

I would like to play CTF this is one of my fav gametype but consider this only as a suggestion, if people want's to play something else I will play anyway

I'll ask my dad what he thinks about the maps. But for a CTF map, I suggest Face Classic.
Blackhawk is good, so is Deck-17, IMO.

Absolute Zero is an awesome map for Conflict. I've played it loads of times. I also recommend TwinTombs, ElecFields and GrassyKnoll for wide conflicts. Deck17, well, I can confidently say I know my way around that. Blackhawk? That's custom, isn't it? Never played it.

FYI I am not around on weekends until the 19th. You can do it without me, but that will make me sad.

Hmm, to maximize attendance, we can set the date to the 26th. One of the {ABA} guys said he would be able to attend that date, but not the 19th as well.

Which would work better for you guys? I can do either, though if we do the 26th I'll update the server a little more with V2.5 and the fully upgraded BWBP V9 weapons. 9 o'clock EST sound good too?

Sounds good! :)

I'm updating the server with V2.5 and the latest V2.5 compatible version of BWBPV9 for use with the match. I'm probably going to have a test match on the 19th at 9PM EST to see if everything's working out okay.

The V2.5 compatible Jack_Carver pack will likely be up there too. ;)

Aw dang, that stinks. :-[ Hopefully we'll still have enough for a full game.

By the way, I've updated Kab's server for the moment. If you select BW Conflict from the gametype list it'll load up Conflict with the V25 guns and V9 guns.

Double Jump Limit appears to be on. It doesn't work properly online.

There's no loadout menu in the Esc menu in Conflict because bCustomGame hasn't been set in the UT2Vote config line.

Conflict's score limit is 30 and the voting timelimit just ran out.

Force to Walk is on in Conflict and is interfering with V25.

As you can see I simply changed one variable from V21 to V25. I'm going to let Dorian or one of the ABA folks get the proper configs up.

I wonder if it would be advantageous to just delete 2.1 off the server entirely, just to make sure we don't get any weird conflicts.

You'll also probably have to change the serverpackages in the server ini too.
