Hey, I hope I'm posting this is the right section. So I've been having an issue connecting with a coop partner for the last couple of months and we could never figure out why. Tonight we decided to finally sit down and figure out why.

I had ports 27015 open and 7777 open for connecting but it still wouldn't work when it had previously. What I found out after looking through my firewall logs is the following.

When connecting by IP or through Steam the initial Steam port (27015) would open up and be allowed through. Then the following connections would come from a random Port and not through 7777. I ended having to create a rule to allow all ports from my partners IP address through the firewall to my internal IP. Once I did this it worked just fine. Here is a snippet from my firewall log.

The src is my partner and the dst is my external IP.

Now I have other rules to allow ArmA3, Murmur, RTCW and games like Saints Row (2-4), Borderlands (1-2) all worked fine without any issue. It's only VCD that I had to open all ports to allow it to connect. I'm not sure what is going on internally with the net code but I hope this helps in anyway to figure out why a lot of us are having issues connecting.
