Nah, the damage should only really occur if you hit them with the grenade with sufficient force (3/4 power throw or higher)

Wouldn't the pulse from EMP grenade also shut down energy weapons and proximity mines

Against Shrith weapons and possibly the FP9A5 Explosive Devices, the EMP would be good.... Against vehicles, They'd be great. But trying to take a flying vehicle with it, may prove a problem.

I would sure as hell love a BFG that shots EMP rounds.

Um... whats the point of making a BFG have an EMP? It like, completly destroys whatever you hit, seems like the EMP afterwards would be a bit... pointless?

By the way, a Flashbang can and will blow your hand off if you forget to throw it for some reason. There is no magical harmless light and sound coming from it, that actually is an explosion blinding and deafening you. Granted, you'd have to be pretty close for the explosion to seriously hurt you, but eh, it's not completely harmless.

That's a bit why those weapons are mainly called less than lethal, in Unreal 4 ever for UT 99 the flash grenade does a little amount of damager when it's close to the thing you want to hurt.
I think the EMP doesn't had to "short circuit" energy weapons, it's a bit unfair I think, just blinding people and stop vehicles might be sufficient to give a dual use of those grenades, no ?

i think flash bang grenades are a brilliant addition to ballistic weapons, maybe when the flashbang goes off near someone here could be an animation where they freak out and fire in random directions that would be funny especially with rocket launchers and the death message for when the enemy gets smacked with a flashbang grenade and dies could be [players] flashbang grenage made [enemy] see the light before the flashbang went off

P.S i kinda agree with blade sword where the emp grenade would do the same thing to energy weapons as when the get submerged in water

EMP grenades is a tricky issue. It could turn out uneven in onslaught if one team ends up with them in their gun lockers and the other team does not. Of course, grenades are still more balanced than a direct blast.

Flashbangs will be great for multiplayer games, though I will probably never use them in botmatches unless the AI is improved in some way in the use of them, as I still have nightmares from when I played U4E and my own team blinded me all the time. Maybe team-specific blindness?

Another idea would be smoke grenades, and while similar to the toxic ones, the cloud would be much larger and the blindness more effective. These grenades differ in strategy from flashbangs as they are perfect for creating escape routes and forcing enemies to leave an area. Think of the usefulness in capture the flag and domination!

It may be useless, for living creatures I guess, but for tanks and any other vehicles? They should prepare. And you still got a pistol to kill the living, so, no problem at all? I still need balance issues fixing.

EMP can actually affect organisms if it is powerful enough, as far as I know at least.

Thats why I wanted balance fixing, like in need of lots of ammo, in need of deployment, charging, etc.

Why you don't ask for a microwave gun, that's versatile and it has some EMP effect you have an hitscan ray it makes people fact and make them explode, that's the best weapon and the most funny in therms of use.

Kelly announced the fact he will made a flash nade, then I started to suggest an EMP funtion to it for making it double useful, the strelet suggests to make an EMP BFG, and after to respond to the Strelet's needs, I suggested a microwave gun that can stop vehicles and also affect people also it's a kind of weapon I wanted to see in BW

really it's a fun weapon now rare are the games who use it and mostly make them well done.

I don't think that would reduce the lethality of being hit in the head with a giant artillery slug.

As it is it's quite balanced; it have no use in combat compared to some other heavy weapons and it's one of the rare launcher that is able to pulverize quickly agile vehicles

if you get hit it should kill but there should be no anti vehicle splash damage.

i think emp grenades are too powerful BUT emp mnes would be ace and would disable cars and tanks forever

P.S to fix the sniper canon issue is simple take the scope off and make it emp and explosive so when it his the ground it emits a emp field and 2 seconds later explodes so it stops cars and destroys them and humans can walk away

In therms of power none are destructive, they just stop the vehicles ... I don't know what you are talking about there.

In Unreal 2 the EMP are only anti machine and they destroy, but since I want to keep the Flashbang integrity in therms of use that's even why I suggested an EMP function to it it's a grenade made for disturbing people in some ways ...
But with EMP it can have some uses against vehicles ...
Just stopping the vehicles only, disabling explosives temporarily can be an other thing but I don't want something exaggerated with them since it would kille the flashbang's purpose

EMPs are only generated on a useful scale by high-altitude nuclear explosions.

For example, Goldeneye sateliites and Call of Duty 6 missiles.
