The close assault weapon is a recoilless shotgun cannon, I would like to see it with flak pellets

The shock and AWE may have slower missiles (alt fire, primary fire is fine), they are too much uncontrollable, and BTW I love the fast fire

The flash is a good weapon, but I find it lack of flames, often the enemies sounds to be killed by the shockwaves rather than the flames, probably hard to program ...

I want to add something about the machine gun, I love the sound of the controlled fire mode fits perfectly the model I am making ^^

Hmm, major issue here! When I use the reloaded command to get the entire Ballistic arsenal, by game rather promptly crashes! It appears we have gotten to the maximum amount of weapons, if we have not already exceeded it.

This is kind of a bummer. Do I start removing weapons now? Do I stop adding more? Do we ignore the crashing and hope it goes away? This is going to need some serious thinking over.

The solution is obvious.

Check the SKAS Shotgun kelly, I got that error twice now while using the reloaded command.

I set my stable jump/sprint and FORCE Ballistic pawn.

Yep, Get it quite regularly.

Whenever I used that cheat, it's fine until I go to switch weapons. But that's nothing major, just lags for a second, then brings up all the weapons.

Maybe it's crashing because of a bug? But, what that bug is and where it's located, I dunno. >.<

Try asking DC about it, Sgt. Kelly? He might have an explanation.

It might be worth adding in a new cheat that just grabs twenty random weapons and gives them to the player. I imagine the cause of the crash would be because there's a massive amount of memory being used in a really short time, or at least something to that effect, so making an alternate (or one that overrides the default) code to be less intense on the computer might fix things.

can i have two questions?
1. in this pack will be that chainsaw that is mentioned in page 55?
2. what is that meter in Shock & Awe? Because sometimes is full, empty....

The limitation is unlikely to be excessive access to computer resources, Windows is more than capable to create memory as needed with the pagefile, as well as prioritizing (preferring lags and stutters over crashes). If there are any problems in this field they will be caused by the Unreal engine.

If this is in fact engine-related then you guys are pretty much screwed unless you can find a way to redesign the very structure of the mod to avoid bumping your head into the ceiling, since the engine is very much closed-source. Imposing limits might be a good idea; maybe disable the reloaded cheat for BW, or modify it to sacrifice weapons in order to stay under the limit? You may also need to impose limits outside the match. Like if you select too many weapons for a single match in the mutator config there will be a warning that not all weapons will appear, or a warning that says the game may crash (I would prefer the former personally.).

My general idea is that nobody really needs or wants to have the entire BW+Sarge arsenal in the inventory at the same time except maybe the developer for testing purposes, limits are not a far fetched idea in my opinion. Imposing them on the mod-wide level would be a challenge though. Time for BW 2.2?

I'm pretty sure its some sort of resource usage related problem. The engine itself might not be capable of handling that much data at once.

Also, didn't we find there was a problem with loading too many handguns at once? Like there was a limit to the number of weapons you could have in a slot? Its not that problem rearing its stupid face again, is it?

We'll need to figure out the names though. At the moment it kinda has the same name as the chainsaw sword.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's the same bug that plagued the game way back when when people tried to run the mod with all of my weapons, kab's weapons, and the regular weapons. I'm 100% certain it's not my computer because I was playing Crysis at Very High earlier, which is a lot more taxing than UT2004, even if it is using 32x AA.

Also, the fact that the bug references the Ticks of each weapons adds to that hypothesis, since keeping track of all 40+ weapons' statuses at once is probably extremely taxing on the 2k4 engine.

Just to check, could somebody load all the guns with the BW GUI disabled? This seemed to fix it for Kab's guns at least. If that doesn't work I was thinking of doing something along the same lines as Bjossi: Imposing limits. Perhaps make new console commands like LoadedSarge, LoadedReg, and LoadedSTALKER. Now that we have a mutator in place, this stuff should actually be possible. Unfortunately my knowledge of mutator code is extremely limited. If we can't get those in we'll be rather screwed, and I'll likely start removing some of the lesser weapons.


And yeah, the chainsaw will be going in, but we have to be careful because this will be adding more onto our currently unstable system. The Shock&Awe, FLASH, and CAWS charge bars don't mean anything, and I have no clue what they're trying to tell us.

its quite easy to make a mistake in the script i would have thought,

okay, i played the game with an without Bw GUI, its not the problem i found out that, when i fire the minigun or throw a grenade, it crashes the game

It crashes more when i throw a grenade, though.

Its ovbious that the engine cant stand the memory so when we fire high memory weapons, such as miniguns or grenades that roll, it takes it out of the game.

Also, a suggestion for the 'Vampir' tranq rifle? I recommend changing Vampir to Vampyr. Looks more old worldly and I think is actually pronounced Vampire spelled that way.

The sawed offs needs to have the fire modes swapped, I mean primary should be single and secondary double shot, to fit the the other one handed weapons like the revolver.
because using it in combo should be more "comfortable"

I couldn't remember what the fire modes were, so it might not be accurate on there. But that does sound like a good idea. I also think both this and the coach gun should automatically reload when empty, instead of having to manually click fire or reload to get your next shots ready.

Hey Blade_Sword, when you start working on the Shock and Awe send me a PM. I have some tips on UV mapping and bone assignment which will make these easier to incorporate and modify in BW.

So, I was wondering. Would anyone be interested in a new weapon, an Assault Rifle that shot .75 cal rounds, that also could be fed specialized 12 gauge shotgun rounds with the pump action?

If so, what would they call this theoretical beast of a gun?
