In the MinigunEffects function of your Minigun's attachment class, you'll see a call to InstantFireEffects(FiringMode). Delete this, and it should go away.

In response to the beta links being updated I grabbed the V9 Release Candidate and the V9 Prototypes

Apparently the V9 weapons are still considered 'non-BW' as if they were still based on BW2.1 although the Prototypes don't have that problem

Surely the V9 guns would be BW2.5 based by now, I must have done something wrong here

I installed the package by manually extracting the files one-by-one from the archive to their respective folders (I tend not to do full extracts to the UT2004 root), then I went into my Ballistic2.5 INI and did a find/replace for all of the BWBPRecolors class names and changed them to BWBPPrototypes where necessary, did I miss anything here?

Never mind. Fixed the problem by removing weapons config settings (crosshairs, priority) from Ballistic2.5 INI and cleared out BWCache

CYLO XM Supercharger:
The new CYLO Supercharger has so far been the most fun I've had ages. It reminds me of the microwave gun from Duke Nukem. Is it going to be the replacement for the Experimental CYLO? Or a random chance variant. Personally I wouldn't mind if this thing was the new Experimental CYLO Its awesome, sinister, explosive and a new twist on the usual way we kill things in this game. It ranks slightly above the Experimental in my evolution tree

AIMS-20 Weapon System:
Still wish it had a larger clip, after all it is already a super assault rifle. Why not? We've got a super shotgun and a super rocket launcher, we may as well go all the way

M70 Nuclear LAW:
Still does hardly any damage for a nuke. Then again I suppose it is getting replaced by the...

XM9000 Tactical Nuclear Launcher:
Holy crap! ...just...Holy crap this thing is awesome! Now all it needs is a guided mode and we finally have our Ballistic redeemer. Also the high pitched ring it tends to emit is a but annoying, I liked the M70's deep thunderous roar better

M350 Explosive Machinegun:
Hey secondary fire can kill things! You know the secondary fire actually makes me think it is a silenced machine gun. I reckon you should just roll with that . Urban Terror has a silenced LMG so why not BW? Up to you.

MG60 Machine Gun:
Awesome, now we have an upgrade to the MG33. This will have a very well defined roll in my ballistic evolution tree as a secondary weapon for distance attackers (my ballistic evo setup restricts shotguns and machineguns to the secondary slot so people who snipe tend to be left without many long range options in that category) It ranks above the MG33, next to the FG50 and below Kabs M925 HMG

VMDW-620c Conqueror MGL:
I still think this one needs a new sound. The current sound (cartoonish 'thoomp') reminds me of a classic nerf gun popping off a sponge rocket. What would be cool is something like the GL sound used in Crysis or Alien vs Predator 2. The grenade launcher sound used for the MP7 in Half life 2 might also work

PS-9m Stealth Pistol:
Still no poison?

AH208 Assault Pistol:
Love the new sound effect. I also find it more effective than the AH104 now

Bulldog .75 Assault Cannon:
The way it works now is beautiful, vastly improved and much more fun to use. It gets ranked up in my evolution stats and sits next to the volatile photon cannon

XM300 Dragon Nanoblade:
Nicely done and very powerful. This will be my melee weapon of choice from now on. Ranks above all other melee weapons in my evolution stats

LS-14 Laser Carbine:
Thanks for changing how the rockets reload, this makes the LS-14 easier to use and a bit more logical

NEX Plas-Edge Sword:
This thing is still very difficult to handle. It overheats quickly and shuts down if you drive it through more than 3 invasion monsters, then you are stuck. It does not really make sense that I can't swing it unless it has power. It's a blunt object so you should be able to do some damage with it even when the power is off. Having the blade charged up does not seem to make that much difference in terms of damage anyway. I always keep it cooled off with the reload key when I use it

SRAC-21/G Autocannon:
Now we have a super grenade launcher Extremely effective in invasion, rivaling the SKAS itself.
As a downside it sucks up ammo quickly which is in turn, hard to replenish and God help you if players and monsters get right in your face when you have this thing in your hands. It's most useful against clusters of small invasion monsters, totally rips them up. I ranked up at the top of my evolution stats, next to the AIMS and the SKAS

Ok you CAN swing the Plas-Edge if its un-powered but you swing it much slower. I think you should be able swing it like you normally could, but with reduced damage

All weapons descended from BallisticWeapon are affected by any rule setting that affects normal Ballistic Weapons, such as sprint and jump offset, inaccuracy and recoil settings.

Is the NEX still inoperative online or are you sorting out the replication for that? Unless I'm misremembering my test on a local dedicated, it had some issues with heat level. Some of the default weapons have fairly complex operation and work just fine online, with the HVC in particular having almost identical heat management.

Regarding the weapons: The unfinished weapons are some of the best in the pack, and I'm sure Kelly knows the value of releasing them all at once.

That's strange... I can get the stock Ballistic weapons to fire perfectly straight, but I tried your balance pack (the weapons are separate and do not replace them like I thought, so not a problem) and while they don't recoil or reload as per my settings, they still chaos all over the place when I shoot. It looks silly to see a machine gu fire in straight lines but start moving all around for what looks like no reason (no recoil or anything )

That's disturbing. Versions prior to the latest one, V53, which I recently removed should work just fine with aim disabled. I just tried V53 and setting inaccuracy scale to zero behaved properly, and in the past I used the accuracyscale variable online with previous versions of my pack and that worked too. Odd.

Feedback:

NEX-Plas Sword:
After the update the NEX-Plas sword is now VERY useful! It has as slash attack and it's able to attack in turned off mode. Nice, Kelly!

Dragon Tooth:
The slash animation got changed, I liked the other one better
Also it's still a bit handicapped. It's very heavy and the only good thing about it is, that it's a one-hit kill. Sometimes.

SKAS:
I was wrong. It IS pretty strong!
I like it

SRAC:
Nice addition, but it has to shoot BORT like grenades, because it's more like a rocket launcher right now.
P.S: I got the pink one xD

Beta weps:
Fusion-Pistol:
A weapon to remember! It has 3 different firemodes, 4 with alternate fire.
They're all pretty different and useful it different ways.
It has an big clip (although alternate nearly wastes the whole magazine)

Weapon-System Assault Rifle:
That's a great one! It has many different firemodes, so you can try many ways to kill your enemies. A tactical gun for sure, if you don't waste your ammo!

MARS Assault Rifle:
It's a mix between a machine gun and an assault rifle.
I like it, because it's a nice addition to the Assault Rifles.

AK-47:
A pretty heavy assault rifle. It's firerate and recoil are a big drawback, but otherwise it's one of the best assault rifles.

Incendiary REX:
Very useful, because there are not many incendiary weapons at the moment. Only the Flare Bort and the grenades.

CAWS Rex:
It's heavy. It's big. And it's a shotgun.
I like it, because it's like a big pipe which tears people apart.

Nuclear Law:
A strong rocket launcher for sure. Not the best choice, but it's nice.

Tactical Nuke:
It's a nuke. Yeah.
Nukes destroy things. Nukes are evil.
'nuff said.

Shock & Awe:
A tactical rocketlauncher, because of the remote controlled rocket and the fast primary fire.

Stealth Pistol:
Nice, but it needs another model for sure, if it's ever going to be finished.

Conqueror:
A grenade launcher! Nice, it's one of my favourite hazard weps.

Vindicator:
It's not that useful, because it has to reload. I prefer the conqueror.

Tranq-Rifle:
Poisoning assault rifle with cool, green darts.
Like.

Cylo Experimental Rifle:
With other colors and a melee slash, this could be the second BFG.
The two firemodes are unique and the alternate fire ist strong too.

Chainsaw Sword:
SICK.
What's better than a chainsaw?

Fusion-Pistol:
Any chance we can even out the amount of ammunition from ammo pickups for this thing? EG: each clip hold 9 rounds but what you get from the ammo pickup does not divide by that evenly, my last clip keeps ending up at 5. The fusion pistol is still a cool lower class weapon, it ranks toward the bottom of my evolution tree but it a fine choice as an early game weapon. I would recommend increasing its fire rate slightly though.

Heavy tech grenade:
How do we feel about the name? It kinda implies it explodes "technology" in your face. It's also not that damaging for something labelled "heavy". How about "plasma disruptor grenade"? Or something like that

how do you get the candidate v9 beta to work with bw 2.5 i cant seem to get to work.

Sarge already made the public beta of his pack BW 2.5 compatible, as far as I know. It should work out of the rar.

But I assume that you are one of many who did not completely uninstall BW 2.0/2.1 before installing 2.5, and that is what can raise all sorts of hell. Installing on top of older releases is done at your own risk.

You probably made my mistake and forgot to clear out the BWCache, just wipe the file clean of all text.

I have to keep have the 2.1 data so that Kaboodles weapons will work (Until he upgrades his weapons) It has no adverse affects as far as I can see but get rid of the BW2.1 ini file.

Psionic Disabler? Psionic Disruptor?

Has a nice ring to it although 'Psionics' would have to be brand name since I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as Psionics.

Also how about 'Neural Disruptor'

On a related note I would change the name of the Experimental Rifle to something cooler too. The current name makes me thing I'm firing a SCIENCE cannon that shoots SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY in a physical weaponized form.

It needs a name more like what the supercharger has; now there's a cool name! Supercharger...because it supercharges you

That may have something to do with it, I think I have v38. That's how you summon the weapons anyway, ballisticv38.m50pickupqs (or something along those lines.)

The XM84 Heavy Tech grenade is actually a disruptor nade. You should check out the description for it. It's dangerous.

@Family_Time: A majority of the unfinished weapons are only hosted in the Prototypes package. They all have [Beta] appended to the name, so they should be easy to spot if you have the correct package.

You need the latest version of V9 package AND the latest version of the prototype package AND BW2.5

Wait a minute. Is this AK-47 part of the prototypes package that shows up in my BW list but never seems to work in-game? Because if so, I'm now royally pissed off.

Otherwise, I have yet to play more with the other weapons to deliver my verdict. Apart from the Anti-Materiel rifle. I like that weapon. It's got too small an ammo capacity to waste on people, but it's far cooler than a rocket when dealing with vehicles.

Hey Kelly, in your next release, can you please not include a BallisticV25.ini in the System folder? As much as I enjoy having to reconfigure all of my swaps and loadouts, I'd much prefer to spend time actually playing the game.

Some recommendations I have:

Dragon's Tooth Sword: Needs to be a little more... slashy? It just seems like the animation is awkward. Not sure why, but it is.

Black Ops Blade: I know this isn't a new weapon, but the view model feels a bit awkward. Might want to pull it a bit closer to the camera.

SKAS-21: Chaos is still a bit odd - more stable while moving. Otherwise, it's fixed.

Bulldog: Magazine seems a bit too long for 10 rounds...

Fusion Pistol: This just has to have the Zeus-Class Fusion Pistol (from Marathon 2) as its model. It fits perfectly.

Additionally, a request for future releases: Can the iron sights on models be based on types which have been proven to work in the real world? "Sights" like the M50, SRS, CYLO and MRS138 make me rage.
