At max everything so I kill always in 1-2 hits.

I have the actual weapon classes on hand, so I know the exact values. No need for ingame mutators when you have the source available. Right now I'm working on getting this one balanced. The modified value is currently set up like the .44 weapons. A single shot to the chest will heavily wound someone but may not get a kill.

For those of you that like numbers:

I was about to comment on the D.Eagle. I was one-shotting dudes constantly with it in Dorian's server.

The texture file has been reduced from a crazy 41mb to a nice 10.5 using compression. The new damage values also make the Desert Eagle nice and fun to use. You may have to hit them more than once, but it still packs a helluva punch.

Oh lol.... the DE still seemed to have KF damage values . No wonder it was that strong!

Maybe that was the reason you made the weapons that powerful, I think that's the explanation for it.

Couple more updates today.

- M7A3 damage reduced to AR levels. (From 50 to 25. It uses 4.47 rounds which are tiny.)
- M7A3 pickup size increased. (Was extremely small before!)
- M7A3 secondary fire now scopes.
- M7A3 scope tracers corrected. (They come from the center now.)
- M7A3 icons optimized.

Just to weigh in here:

The M99 is extremely powerful. I know it has only one shot in it, but as it is there are enough weapons in Ballistic that do so much damage per hit as to make map control worthless, and it takes the cake when you get hit for something like 400 damage.

The P90, by contrast, is useless. When fired, its visual recoil doesn't match it's actual recoil, and the animation obscures the point of aim when you're ironsighting, meaning you can't see what the hell you're doing with it unless you're spamming it from the hip.

The SPAS seems stronger than the other shotguns.

The M99 will stay a 1 shot kill weapon as it would be useless otherwise.
The P90's recoil will get fixed.
And we already made the spas less dangerous as it was semi auto before the open beta.

Personally that's normal for that weapon, it's an antimateriel rifle but if the damage is set up around 150 ~ 300, perhaps less but with a vehicle damage bonus

It's all well and good to say it's an anti-materiel rifle, but that seems to come at the ignorance of some of the *other* features of anti-materiel rifles, such as the fact that you need teams to operate them in a consistent fashion, they have recoil that cannot be properly controlled from a non-prone or bipoded position and that they're anti-vehicle weapons, yet somehow seem to get used way too much against infantry.

Don't mind me. I just absolutely hate the idea of a weapon which, in practice, comes down to one person sitting somewhere in a corner with his scope and killing somebody else who has map control in one shot. Balance and gameplay are curves, and a weapon which caters to absolute extremes breaks the balance a lot more than "multiply damage by 4, divide capacity by 4" would ever suggest.

The SPAS is dangerous due to its tight spread and extremely high pellet damage. It does more damage than the improved coach gun and the MRS138. It does far more damage, sights faster, and shoots faster than the M763.

P90 visual recoil will be fixed. Damage values will be checked later.

As JackCarver said, the M99 is the one shot brother to the X83. Both do instant kill damage with the exception that the X83 ignores all armor.



Depending on what Jack wants for the SPAS, I could:
- Slightly lower the damage and call it a 10 gauge. (Keep it as a super shotgun.)
- Heavily lower the damage to 12 gauge levels. (Nerf it to BW levels.)
- Lower the damage and add in a weak, less accurate semi-auto secondary fire. (Make it unique but still strong.)

M99 could be potentially nerfed by giving it the extreme chaos of the X83, but that might be going a bit far.

Sgt. Kelly I like what you want to do with the Spas! Actually we always wanted it to have both semi and manual cocking. Atm the fire animation includes a unique cocking animation. So you'll probably need to normal fire animation. Just tell me if you need it. Thx!

Would say option two for the SPAS.

Increasing the chaos for the M99 won't help much, as it's more an "I camp and oneshot all the people run and gunning" weapon - unless you mean giving it some kind of heavy sway in its sights from every position, which would actually make it more of an anti-materiel rifle and less of an "I win without going anywhere against infantry" weapon due to the inherent inaccuracy. Come to think of it, I actually quite like that idea. I'm against increasing the recoil for anything in BW - in light of the recoil bug, anyone with a ping above 60 can miss outright because the shot goes off in the middle of the weapon's recoil, and weapons like your Barrett in particular suffer horribly because of their high recoil.

The R78.... won't someone think of the R78 T_T

Hmm well the M99 would be useless without its damage and it's just realistic. I just hate weak sniper rifles as they don't do anything. But I really like the Semi Auto idea of the Spas as it then just would be like the real Spas.

I tried the M99 and I have to say that's a fair weapon, it does between 106 up to 186, that's far to be an unbalanced weapon
I think the mk23 should have the headshot multiplier increased, it does quite nothing more than shooting at torso

I don't quite think I'm getting through here.

I'm not suggesting to remove the damage anymore, I'm suggesting to make it as it's actually supposed to be - an anti-vehicle weapon. I'm quite sick of all these anti-vehicle-class and super-class weapons (read: HVC, RX22A, Railgun, Peacemaker, G5, RPG, anti-materiel rifles, mines, etc) being included in infantry gametypes (as they always are) and ruining the game by giving players the option to just reduce the game to oneshotting people any time they're on a losing streak, don't have map control, etc etc etc. There's always meticulous attention to detail paid to the positive aspects of these weapons, but somehow in all cases but one (the RX22A) all of the negative aspects (which might actually balance the weapons) are completely and totally overlooked. I'm glad you think that weak sniper rifles suck, but one-shot class damage (some EVEN IGNORING ARMOUR - WTF) from some weapons while others remain piss weak is getting old, especially as this misconception that sniper rifle-calibre bullets are miraculously four times as powerful when fired from a rifle as from a machinegun (M925) seems pretty rampant here. Ballistic's official weapons do low damage compared to what they do in games such as CoD4 anyway, and have even worse accuracy at a distance even when sighted, as sights sway badly for about 4 seconds after being put up and weapons suffer from a recoil bug online. If you're at BW sniper range, even the R78 is going to beat any other weapon.

I feel this might be a good time to mention CoD4's Barrett M82 - which doesn't always kill in one shot (Juggernaut). Compromising "realism" for a game that's actually playable.

Anyway, it isn't really my problem anymore, so do what you wish. You will anyway. There are simply too many design flaws and balance issues in Ballistic to even really care about its balance - all of them stemming from some stupid ideal of "achieving realism", which has always been selectively applied - and "my weapon must be the best!" syndrome has dominated the Ballistic mod scene for as long as I can remember. It's just not worth fighting for balance in a field of people who mostly couldn't tell balance if given a set of scales. In future, if I post at all, it'll just be to make some sycophantic comment like "hurr durr totally aw3s0m3!" which will soon make me a respected member of the community who has contributed absolutely jack shit to anything and doesn't even bother to play the mod online.

Oh yeah, one more thing.

Nice 2000 damage RPG with no flight path deviation, balance maestro.

The M82 is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-materiel rifle... The first .50 cal rifle. It's meant to have a lot of power

Jack_Carver and Fische11 are in the military and don't have time to fine tune their guns. They're running off Killing Floor values which are 2x to 4x stronger than the Ballistic 'norm'.

The RPG's damage has been reduced and I've coded in a corkscrew already; read the changelog above.

I'm going to leave my previous post intact to preserve the sense of the thread, but mention that I accept the point about military service, and wish it was mentioned a little earlier on.

- MK23 chaos and recoil increased. (Used only RS8 stats before. Now it's a bit less accurate like the M806.)

I think that's good the gun did 50 dg per shot, you set it around 20 dg, right ?
