On less lunch related terms, I'm kicking this project back into overdrive. I set the release date about 4 months ago and we're a bit overdue.

We need more workers here. A second animator is in need so that Xavius, who is of course a giant animator would not have to do the animations for everyone's models. And Kelly, who is of course a giant coder, have to get rid of the bugs.

Always based of Energy or acid? You seen what, 3 official ranged skrith weapons? I'd say you're jumping to conclusions. You never even knew they used acid till 2.5

So Kelly how is this going? I haven't been around in a while. and I would like to know how its going.

I haven't been doing much work due to my job and other duties, so it has been quiet around here. I'm putting some time aside to try and finish V9 now, however.

Oh good! And was there ever any sort of implementation on integrating my airstrikes with some of these weapons, or was that scrapped? Just wondering.

I was working on that but I ran into a ton of bugs. Can't figure em out.

Meanwhile as I am back from my vacation my focus has turned to employment as a higher priority.

I think it might come for V10 I think.

Though someone asked about a quick run down of the Prototype weapons, so here we go:

AIMS-20 Super Weapon System:
A top of the line assault rifle system. This gun is the SKAS of assault rifles. It is designed to win every engagement. It is super weapon grade, it is overpowered, it is basically an automatic M30A2 with excellent accuracy and a automatic bazooka taped on. This will be present in V10. I need someone to make a high tech OICW model for it though.


AK490 Combat Rifle:
A ruggedized high caliber assault rifle. This gun is not very accurate or controllable, but it packs a big punch. This is a more close range assault rifle than the M50 and MARS-2. It will be in V10. It has a model but it needs work done.


CYLO-E Supercharger:
This is a prototype lightning SMG thing. It's what happens when mad scientists run out of ammo for their CYLOs. It has multiple firemodes, can cause shock combos with its projectiles, and will blow people up in spectacular lightning explosions like a needler on crack. This will be present in V10 with a custom model.


FG-50 Heavy Machine Gun:
A giant beast of an MG. This thing shoots full length .50 cals (X83 .50s, not M925 .50s). As a result, it does more damage than the M925, but is pretty much uncontrollable. You also do not get a bipod. This will be present in V10.


REX M-2 Close Assault Weapon System:
A GIANT shotgun. This thing rips people to shreds. It is really big. This will be present in V10. It can also shoot flak grenades in case you don't know how to aim a shotgun.


M70 Nuclear Light Anti-Tank Weapon:
Giant rocket. It's great for taking out pesky tanks and infantry. It deals shockwave damage though, which means infantry can easily survive blasts. This will be present in V10.


LS440M Enhanced Shock Rifle:
Community requested instagib version of the LS14. Will be present in V9. We sure have a lot of superweapons now...


REX M-1 FLASH:
Incendiary rocket launcher. It shoots fire. It will be in V10.


M2020 Gauss Designated Marksman Rifle:
A semi-automatic sniper rifle. This gun is supposed to be a more controllable semi-auto sniper, because as we all know the X83 goes all over the place. It wont be as strong as the other snipers though. It has a model already made for it, it will have a scope, and it will be in V10.


PK2000 SMG:
A .45 SMG. A nice mid-range SMG. Man Slayer was kind enough to model and texture this, so it will definitely be in V10. It will have a 20 round mag.


S-REX Shock & Awe:
An extremely versatile HE rocket launcher. You can shoot the rockets regularly or guide them around things. It's model is under construction. It will be in V10.


MARS-2 Assault Rifle:
A fast-firing and accurate assault rifle. It's a good mid-range assault rifle, but it is bad at close range combat and has a minor recoil issue. This may be present in V10. It may need a model.


MG33 Light Machine Gun:
An accurate, scoped assault rifle in LMG configuration. It's not as strong or fast as the other machine guns. It's basically a bigger, slightly slower firing MARS-2. It will be present in V10 if I get the model. Somebody made a cool G36 model for it but I don't think they've sent us it yet...


VMDW-620c Conqueror Multiple Grenade Launcher:
A 6-shot revolver grenade launcher. We have a model for it, but it has a lot of issues. It may be in V10 if we can get its issues resolved. The code is very much incomplete.


MP40 SMG:
Jame's MP40. It is slow firing and old. There are some problems with the model. It will be present in V10 if we can get those sorted out.


VSK-42 Tranquilizer Rifle:
A tranquilizer rifle. It's like a little baby SRS that give baddies a case of the barfs. It has a model that needs some work. It will probably be in V10.


VNDL-5 Vindicator Grenade Launcher:
A double barreled grenade launcher. This shoots strong grenades. They bounce. A man named Nihulus appeared on the forums, modeled the gun, and then mysteriously disappeared. So, uh, I don't know if this will be in V10.


EP90 Fusion Pistol:
A multi purpose energy pistol. It was mainly coded up to try out some new firemodes. It may end up in V10 with some heavy adjustments.


GG-4000 Assault Rifle:
Designed because Azarael wanted an assault rifle that could be silenced. He began making a model for it but then turned evil and got himself banned. The silenced firemode may end up in V10. Blade sword will take over the modeling if we choose to keep it.


XM20 Laser Carbine:
A very WIP laser rifle.


PS-9m Stealth Pistol:
A prototype machinepistol that uses dart rounds. It has since been replaced by the GRS1, which is more fun. It probably will not be present in V10. Blade Sword may be giving it a model though, so it's up in the air.


XM9000 Nuke Launcher:
A big freaking nuclear missile launcher. It will not be present in V10. We may be replacing it with a nuclear missile without a launcher. One that you drop/throw and then run like hell away from.


XM7040 Heavy Gauss Anti-Materiel Rifle:
A bigger version of the M2020 Gauss DMR. It is superseded by the M2020 which now contains its functionality as a firemode. It will not be present in V10.


XR4 Energy Thing:
A gross green laser rifle. It's functionality is included in one of the SKAS's rare camo patterns. Will not be in V10.


MG60 Medium Machine Gun:
A prototype I made to be like the M60/XM22. Vaguely inspired by Call of Duty: Black Ops. Will not be in V10.


MK16 Combat Shotgun:
A prototype designed to be like an AA12. I don't like it much. It won't be in V10.


CYLO Experimental Rifle:
This was the precursor to the Supercharger. The supercharger already has its firemodes, so this thing is just a cut version of the gun above. It will not be present in V10.


MB46 Tech Rifle:
A prototype energy assault rifle I made because I liked the ones in Mass Effect. It has a shotgun for no real reason. It won't be present in V10.


Chainsword:
A chainsaw that is part sword! This is pretty much the NEX Plas-Edge in chainsaw makeup. While it is quite cool, it likely will not be present in V10.


M350 Explosive Machinegun:
Failed prototype. Will not be present in V10.

I like the model, but that muzzle break looks like a brick attached to the barrel.


Also, interesting textual info.

The model is fantastic, but I agree with SX the flash suppressor still needs work.

After playing the new pack of prototypes, I have to say I was fascinated with the new weapon LS440 Enhanced Shock Rifle (nice weapon name!). This weapon is AWESOME! And I would like to be included in the V9 pack as it is (without any modification). I passed tremendously well bursting bots! I like it!

I would like add some things to improve this great weapon:

- 1. Reloading weapon. But look at what I am going to say: You've played Doom 3? I like the sound that has the plasma rifle when you reload it (especially the sound it makes at the end of the recharge. As well as: Piiiiiiiii... You know what I mean?

- 2. Overheating bar for the secondary fire, (with a smoke effect in the red heat core).

- 3. A decent long range zooming scope. I think the zooming scope from the SRS900 Battle Rifle would very well. This weapon looks a futuristic advanced rifle, so, why not use an advanced zooming scope? The zooming scope hud of the SRS900 Battle Rifle tells you the status of various parameters of the weapon and makes it look a futuristic scope, (the only thing I don't like is that the glass effect is broken).

- 4. I don't like implement a HVPC backpack for this weapon.

That's it, please I ask that you include this weapon in your V9 pack.

I forgot, this weapon gives warning messages in the UT2004.log:

I almost felt a bit sad to know the XR4 will be axed since I grew an attachment to its ability to spam green all over the place.

I liked spamming that firemode, it didn't explode in my face like the BFG does.

I understand why it has to go, just kinda wish that green spam firemode can be inherited by one of the other energy weapons.

I'll miss the chainsword if it goes too. It had potential to be different and not another plas-edge

Chainsaw sword, we will see. Mainly, I need to rework its design and reUV map it, and since it was done in Maya 5.0 PLE, that would mean a complete redo of everything. I already have a big yellow chainsaw pretty much ready for use in blender though. So its not like you won't get a chainsaw.

But seriously. We need an alt fire for it. What would you do for an alt fire? I think a boring slash would be boring. It would have to do something special...

- Bulldog secondary fire beefed up.

- XMB500 incendiary effects upgraded.
- XMB500 now does radius damage.

- CYLO Firestorm incendiary effects upgraded.
- CYLO Firestorm now does radius damage.

- CYLO UAW max range reduced.

- Sawn off shotgun broke.

- Dragon's Tooth blade effect added.

- HMC117 lasers and pulse effects upgraded.

- A49 alt fire now overheats in all game modes.

Rocket propelled chainsaw, duh.

The CYLO-E still kills guys before it can make them explode. GRR! That defeats the entire purpose then! >:(

I'd love to see it deal no damage EXCEPT for when it explodes stuff.

Also yes the LS440 is amazing. I may have praised this already, I hope you don't mind if I do it again. lol. I really don't like the automatic and burst on it though, I prefer to use semi-auto... matches the feel of the original that much better.

Is the "spit-fireworks" Personal minigun in the newest pack already? Sorry if I overread that. The new incendiary effect looks just awesome!

What does it mean?

I think the shotgun would look nice without the muzzle break, add a magazine, and change the sight to an aimpoint, or have iron sights.

Also, i am soon to start modeling a crossbow. Would you like it? Maybe something not totally overpowered would be good.

We would definitely love a crossbow. We've been looking for a nice, tactical military crossbow since the start of V6. By the way, be sure to send Xavious or I copies of the models you have so far. We're doing a content backup.

More minor tweaks:
- M30A1 recoil doubled.
- SRS M2 iron sight recoil increased. (No visual animation though. They look weird on it.)

Still confused about the broken sawn off.

The sawn off muzzle flashes don't seem to be attaching to the barrel. It looks like they aren't spawning at all.
