Progress is going good. Even though we're oficially still on V9, V10 is already pretty much 50% complete.

We're looking for decently skilled animators, by the way. Poor Captain Xavious is stuck with everything at the moment.

well, as we can see recently, Spam is a great animator, maybe after he finishes his work he might help. Not quite sure if theres anyone else out there, maybe u can recruit some people from the Epic games forums

-M10 Jackson Automag added to the prototype package. (Kien's model)
-AH208 damage reduced.

Of the 3 .44 magnum weapons, the D49 is now the strongest and most accurate. The AH208 and M10 have higher capacities and quicker reloads, though they don't have the same raw power or accuracy of the revolver. The new M10 is fully automatic and quite fearsome up close, but good luck keeping it on target at range.

I will also be upgrading the X83 and AH104 fly-by bullet whizzing sounds to use a custom sonic crack. Now you will know for sure if you're dodging what amounts to instant death.

BTW i was messing with the Unreal-editor, fixing a broken level and adding animated meshes to it, and i stumbled opon these.

That's the brand new AH208 model and the old lightsaber.

The lightsaber has been pretty much eclipsed by the XM300 Dragon Nanoblade though, so we probably won't see it in the mod.

no lightsaber? aws... no Starwars for us then.... oh well, the dragonblade still good though!!

BTW is the new 208 gonna be in the final version of V9?

You do realize it makes no sense whatsoever for bullets of the same caliber to do different damage based on weapon, right? Unless one gun uses hollowpoint ammo or something.

Shenanigans. Firing mechanism and barrel length greatly affect muzzle velocity. Your claim makes as much sense as saying any two rifles of the same calibur will be just as accurate.

True, but we're talking about pistols here, which judging by the models don't have much of a difference in barrel length.

As for firing mechanism...yeah, I have to concede that point. Didn't think about that. I suppose that explains the revolver being more powerful.

It's also a somewhat generic pet peeve of mine in video games, where several weapons of the same caliber/barrel length/firing mechanism do vastly different amounts of damage which aren't grounded in physics or real life in any way. (see: CoD and BFBC2)

Hey guys, great mod. Love the dedication (and number of guns ) being thrown around. Quick question though: As I read the change log, I see mention of "inventory sizes" (ex: gun takes 10/100 inventory space or something).

Is there a mode where you have an inventory limited by space? I know there's Ballistic Loadout that lets you choose certain weapons based on defined categories, but I'm not aware of something based on how much out of 100 you take up

The inventory sizes are used when you play Ballistic Conflict. It's a Counter Strike style gametype that comes with a custom loadout bar that can be filled with guns of different sizes. It's fun, you should try it out.



Calibers are always taken into consideration for the mod weapons. Usually guns will do the same damage if they use the same ammo, though depending on the gun in question certain firearms may vary in damage ranges and maximum effective ranges. The variance is usually around +/- 5, so while it's nothing too radical, it will make a difference in a firefight when you weapon ceases to be a 1-hit or 2-hit kill.

For example, the D49 can vary from 80-100 on a bodyshot, while the AH208 will only score 75-90. The D49 and AH208 have differently rifled barrels, and the AH208 uses some of its gas to chamber the new round. The A10 Automag, being automatic, will also use excess gas to chamber a new round.

Another example would be the MG33 LMG vs the M50 AR. The MG33 uses a heavier barrel designed more for sustained usage than precision, and as such is easier to control with slightly worse accuracy and stopping power.

Also, I requested a "no weapon drop" mutator on the Epic forums that PaD very generously made, so if you want that, let me know. I feel it plays beautifully with Loadout, as it restricts you to the five weapons you chose, and you can NOT pick up other people's weapons (because they now no longer drop them), which I felt destroyed the whole purpose of Loadout and choosing weapons.

not really, i found an exploit...... just throw a gun and quickly get another and pick it up b4 it disappears ahahah im evil sumtimes.

only downside is u only have several seconds b4 the weapon disappears and u can just disable it with another mutator.

i think a better solution is to add a swap feature instead, ya know, like the ones from Halo and COD, thats a much better way, but i assume coding it is more complex.

It depends I think both reasons are valid, usually faster guns of a same caliber are often weaker than slower ones for balance reasons. But yeah it happens that people put certain settings just because they like X gun over an other. Actually settings can have many reasons valid or not that they doesn't have always sense.

So you want a bunch of guns to be identical to one another? I suppose you think all 9mm pistols should have the same accuracy too? Because if you want to ignore the factors that change the kinetic energy in a bullet, you'll be ignoring the factors that affect recoil, range, and accuracy too.

Oh yeah, and rate of fire will be affected too!

I say just play with the thing and shush about how this and that works.

Odd problem: the Prototype weapons aren't showing up on the weapon list. Any idea as to why this would happen?

Haven't played with the prototypes for a while, so I installed them into my laptop and I've been missing a lot of stuff.

Love the scopeless railgun that is known as the M2020 DMR, totally should keep that in and give it the the backpack from the HMC-177 Photon cannon uses along with a new texture.

i think thats more of a placeholder model really.

Ok, I redownloaded and deleted BWCache.ini and I still don't see the prototype weapons, which is really strange.

now for a halo'esque game all i need is a weapon similar to the needler (: (the peacemaker is almost but just not quite what i am lookin for)
