Yeah, very very strange. I play with all prototype weapons, and of course, if you want play the prototype package you also need SK's Ballistic Weapons Bonus Pack V9 installed.

I can see all the prototype weapons in Loadout, UT2004 weapon settings and BW swapping settings.

Can you see if in the UT2004.log tells you some warning message about the prototype weapons? For example, you can search the word M2020Gauss in the UT2004.log, and probably you see some error or missing package.

What plasma pistol is this? I think I missed that... what's the link to the latest prototypes package?

It's the EP90 Fusion pistol, one of my favorite Marathon weapons, and just click the download link in Kelly's sig then click the "My s4shared" link on the page that opens up, the file is called [Mod] Prototypes.rar

Oh that, yeah, I've seen it. Didn't care much for it.

Something I would love though is if the CYLO-E (the electric one that makes stuff explode) didn't do any damage unless you could get it to explode. Often times things die before the explosion, which defeats the entire purpose of the weapon.

Its already overpowered, and you only need to aim in the general vicinity for kills.
Glowing missiles and a delay for effects would be cool.

This would be overpowered... but so what? That would be awesome!

I would slow the rate of fire and make them explode after a certain distance (so people don't just spam the map from the top of a tower).

maybe make it the camo variant for it, so it is rarer...

Hey fellas, I'm coding up special fires for our four directed energy weapons. Shoot me some ideas, and if they're reasonable they might make it in.

The guns that are getting upgrades are:
- BFG 9000
- HVPC Mk5
- HMC-117
- LS14

I've also been playing a fair share of Fallout recently, so we may see a prototype laser gatling gun in the future.

Maybe the HVPC Mk5 could have a concussion blast that not only stuns people, but damages them?

I dunno, haven't been playing much.

How about an energy ball that is wobbling around for maybe 30 seconds and explodes after that or if it touches something hostile. That could be very funny.

And how about renaming the BFG 9000 to BFG 9001? That way it is "over ninethousaaaaand!"

Maybe for the LS14 a sticky grenades for his rocket launcher module, or not fueled rocket launcher (like the secondary fire from the UT Eightball). You can throw one rocket or hold down for release the three rockets!

In regards to weapon specials:
HMC-117, make it so that it only takes half the time to charge a charged shot, but it also does half the damage;
LS14, holding the Weapon Special button locks on, and once locked on the mini rockets would follow the target (like the vanilla rocket launcher).
BFG 9001 and HVPC Mk5, SELF DESTRUCT BUTTON!!!

I would like that the BFG ball fires target seeking rays but I think you can't do it

Hey, how about the Weapon Special needing to charge, but the charged shot has target seeking rays (like the shot had a Lightning gun inside it ) ?

The HMC-117 is the blue beam weapon with the flamethrower model right?
I'd suggest making its charge beam be able to fire at any point in the charge, but have a proportional amount of damage, like the Hellbender rear turret.

Also, why don't any of the weapons that use the models from Ballistic Weapons use any of the new models from v2.5?

Press the "mode select" button (the button you use to change guns from full-auto to semi-auto to burst mode.) It already does that.

The fire modes on the BFG and HVPC are fine to me, but I always wanted a way to use the BFG's secondary fire without exploding if that's one thing . I had already proposed that idea for one of the new laser concepts. A self destruct tertiary fire sounds like potential hilarity too, although its pretty easy to achieve that with secondary fire already

All I want for the HMC is for it to not have a 100% probability of selecting the overcharged version in invasion games. Otherwise I think it is fine the way it is.

The LS14 secondary rockets could use something to spice it up a bit and make it different from the Bulldog grenades. How about something energetic that goes with the laser theme? Did someone once mention EMP rockets around here?

And while we are on topic with the LS14, I think the Instagib version could use some changes too;

-It is a little too much like a hitscan HVPC and not enough like an instagib rifle IMO.
-I propose removing secondary fire so its use lies entirely on the instagibbing property (we have machine guns and potential new laser guns that can assume the role that the secondary fire offered)
-Primary fire damage needs to be upped higher. It doesn't need to be as deadly as the original instagib rifle or the golden gun. 500 or 1000 damage should do.
-Speed up the primary fire rate to instagib rifle levels (but allow it to overheat easily)
-Put reloading and the overheating back in. After all, whats the point of a ballistic instagib rifle if it does not use ballistic features?
-The firing sound might need to be toned down a bit too. I noticed that the sound crackles when lots of players fire primary at the same time. As if the game cannot handle the combined bass or volume.

IMO yeah, having sumthing special for the LS14 rockets would be fine too, i already edited mine to fire energy pulse rockets, blue plasma explosions it has.

And I would like to vote no on all the changes to the LS440 Yoke just suggested. It's fine as it is. Remove the secondary fire, and what's the point? If I want Instagib, I'll play Instagib.

No, the idea was a better LS-14. Not a full-on instagib rifle.

Don't get me wrong, if the instagib LS-440 were its own separate thing, then great, that would be awesome, but if you want to change the current LS-440, then yeah, I don't like that.

Personally I don't see why we can't have both to make everybody happy. That seems like it's been Ballistic's goal since day one: A shit load of options so that everyone can customize and play it the way they want to.

Yes, the countless ways to customize gameplay and the numerous options I have to congfigure things are what makes UTk4 so much fun to play for years and years in a row.
That, and all the custom maps and mods.

Now if there were only some way they could get rid of the weapons swaying when you get hit without having to recode the entire thing, that would be even better yet... but I won't ask them to recode it. I know they wouldn't, but it would be a bitch thing of me to ask for anyway.
