And thats what the laser is for.

The D49 has a laser too, which isn't visible to enemies. It can also put out 50% more damage per second (the double shot doesn't do double damage, strangely enough) at about half the chaos.

Perhaps a reduction in movement and shot chaos will allow the AH104 to compete more with the D49. Not enough to make it back into the sniper it was in Beta 4, but to allow use while on the move.

Right now if you compare the two you'll find that:

The AH104 beats the D49 in sheer power.
The AH104 can reload faster than the D49.
The AH104 has one more shot than the D49.
But:
The D49 can fire much more accurately.
The D49 can fire quicker. (Twice as fast dual wielded.)
And the D49 can do certified 1-shot kills with its double shot.

Looking at those comparisons, I'd say the D49 is overall more effective...

The AH104 has a definite advantage when the user is stationary because of its power, but it is fairly horrible on the move.

Except for dual wields.
The quad shot factor down right beats the AH104 for twitch killing.

Which is Why I take the D49 over the AH104 any day.

Feels cheaper than hell though,I'd put the twin D49s right up there with twin GRSXXs as overpowered.

1 GRSXX > all. The secondary laser alone puts it above most of the weapons. The primary is stronger than the SRS900's in most aspects, trailing only in damage at range, water penetration, and kickforce (how much it pushes the target away).

Twin GRSXX is just an excess of excess.

Consider this...
It takes very little time to line up the twin D49s,as are the twin GRSXXs.
Now it takes a half(?) a second to burn a enemy with the lasers.(or insta-kill special,you only get to use that twice for a while)

But with the D49 quad shot it is a insta-kill in a flash,and you can follow up two more times then retreat to reload.

Three guys are in a room,you burn at one with those lasers,takes very little time but enough for guy #2 or #3 to put a bullet in your head.

Same scenario but with twin D49s... BAM.BAM. last guy just gets a enough time to half way line up his shot before...

BAM.

Or with those twin GRSXXs come in... Special,special,full auto on the last guy,about the same time as with D49s.

See how D49s come very close?

That's a highly implausible scenario you're detailing with the twin D49s. The D49 has exactly half a second between shots (primary and alt), so assuming perfect timing, the fastest you can unload the guns is 1 second. Taking recoil and chaos into account, (especially while dual-wielding), it will take far more time to actually put those bullets accurately on target. Your only guarantee for success here is if you manage to get the drop on your enemies or they have terrible aim or reaction time.

Not to mention, if you ever miss, find yourself facing more than 3 enemies, or one of them is fairly well-armored, you're completely hosed by its eternal reload time, unless you've got some really pro skills.

An equally-skilled shooter with twin GRSXX can burn through two guys faster than D49 with the super laser (and does almost as much damage as an entire quad shot put together). With what amounts to two 24-round fully-automatic M806s (with even more damage per shot, less recoil, and less chaos!), you can easily kill 3 or 4 more.

The D49s don't even come close.

Heh, in that scenario I'd choose the SM-AT/AA over any of the other guns.

Simply walk two steps and press the right trigger.

That was a ambush scenario.
In BW I wouldn't imagine going head on without flanking/shooting from a long distance/something incredibly stupid. O)
