So after waiting for a few months my curiosity took the best of me and I downloaded the V10 pack of whats usable so far and also I was getting bored with the beta weapons.

I'm surprised for the kick the FSSG-50 gives I can control it quite well and I encountered all three types of it (that once I upload a video for a "new" voice pack I worked on you will see) including this version:



That I thought at first the mod was glitching out a bit and forgetting the scope then later when I looked at the wiki I discovered I encountered the very rare version of the FSSG-50 that only apprers about 2% of the time. It was like the mod was saying "Ok Hotshot your good with this gun with a scope how are you with just using iron sights?". I also found a good use for the rifle's full auto mode at range surprising enough that I end up killing the poor sucker in about the 2nd shot as the rifle tilts up from the kickback.

The SK-410 I'm not too crazy for compared to the SKAS-21 and I was surprised it has it's own Tron CLU colored neon lines version like the SKAS-21 does and works the same way as it just the fire spread is way spread out compared to the SKAS-21 that fires in a tight pack.

I was also wondering for the FG50's Holosight when it goes green with a V is that a special version or is the green Holosight just for show to change things up a bit from the red one?

Also after playing with these guns for a few days I want moar now. I can't wait to see what's next.

Question:
Were there any plans for a crossbow? I could swear you considered adding a crossbow for this pack but I'm not sure. If yes, why didn't it make the cut? Too hard to code, no model ?

Ah, the crossbow. Personally, I still want one, I believe Sgt. Kelly does as well, but its all a matter of finishing what we have started first. We don't want to be working on this forever and want to kind of wrap this up at some point, so we have to drop some ideas in the interest of time.

That being said, its something we would love to do if we had sufficient time/people.

Difficulty of making something isn't really a factor at this stage.

That's another reason I always liked the idea of a standalone BW game... more popular -> more people would know about it, help and make own mods of course.

A german flecktarn SKAS has an incredible rate of fire but after reloading or switching firemode to manual and then back to automatic it acts just like a normal SKAS.

EDIT: I tested it again and it doesn't always happen. It randomly happens after firing Manual or reloading...

Hmm, if you can get the exact scenario in which it happens, I would be grateful. You can manual set camo by typing editdefault class=skasshotgun and then tossing it after setting CamoIndex to flecktarn.

Shooting with manual lowers the RPM, reloading or firing again w. manual don't help.
Death seems to be the only solution.

So, curious about the AH-104. I mostly play loadout, and every time I respawn it has a different firing sound. Why is that?

Actually, pretty much EVERY weapon sound from UT was awesome. Especially just the sound for pulling out the Flak Cannon as it turns on and loads up a shell. Even after YEARS of UT, I've never gotten tired of that sound.

The NV and IR mode of the X83A1 don't seem to work at all now it seems.
No red rectangles appear, NV doesn't help in darkness at all.

Too bad, I was happy to see that you can use both modes no matter what "mode" you're in.

Can you make the forward ejection look cool? Can you also make gravity affect the first person model, so if you look down shells will fall out?

I'd suggest incendiary/disruptor grenades and/or the abillity to hold down the fire button to shoot the grenades a longer distance.

That sounds stupid. It makes more sense to hand grenades.

Unless its a sort of gauss propelled bullet...and at max power it would turn into a straight up sniper nade that can be shot across the map

This is something of a loaded request. Absolute precision on what and how something does something depends entirely on what options you give it. You'll have absolute precision on most assault rifles when it comes to firing full auto or burst fire with the use of the firemode key.

If you want to give it too many options it can very easily he bogged down with the practical limit of keybinds, resulting in something terribly clunky.

That being said, the Longhorn Repeater pretty thoroughly acheives your specifications of having precise control of its range and how you'll utilize the components of its payloads to deal the damage.

Tools are only as good as their wielder. If you want the bullet to go where you're aiming, you need to have to aim. That means no moving, no dodging bullets. Just steady, uninterrupted focus. And while you're standing there like a tree post, I'll take my inaccurate shitty plink gun to keep your aim off.

That being said, the first shot is almost always going to go where you're aiming. Also, such a thing just doesn't exist, Nor should it in the digital DM arena world.

If you want it to, turn on perfect accuracy for bots and give them instagib rifles. See how much fun that is.

Here I'll explain my weapon concept and maybe it'll explain it in a better fashion

So the idea is its pretty much a sort of wildly thrown together gauss weapon sort of thing that would fire "intelligent" bolts wich can be opened to place a hand grenade on it

changing the bolt into a dumb-fire rocket

The first secondary would be to do that and switch around the multiple types of hand grenades one has in his possesion

but as mentionned earlier, theses are "smart" bolts, as such they can delay or speed up a grenade's "timer" so that it only goes off under specific conditions

My concept would have

- Explosion on impact : does exatly what it says on the tin

- Air Burst : like above exept now it will go off as soon as something enters the explosive's radius, preventing to hit multiple targets to insure it hits one specific target while the bolt is in travel

- Proximity Trigger : Does not go off when in the air or on impact, instead the bolt will pretty much turn into a remotely delivered mine that'll act exactly like thoses sticky mines we had before but with a wider choice of payloads, it would however take a little more time to be primed


You want a toxic gaz mine ? you can make it

You want a Air burst incendiary round ? it'll work

You want a anti-vehicle rocket launcher ? why not


add to that a "power meter" much like the grenade's but turning the thing into pretty much a hitscan weapon at full charge and you get a sort of super high tech magnetic crossbow thing majig that can virtually do it all so long you have the 'nade for it...of course you could still just fire the bolt as is...

What I meant by "precision" earlier wasn't the litteral precision of the projectile itself but rather a weapon that can fit many roles with the same efficiency
