Yep, I got one in the works too. I'm not fully sure what all the weapons in the pack will be, but I can now confirm 3: CYLO Versitile UAW XLR28 Combat Chainsaw PlasEdge Back stories to the weapons: [br] Name: CYLO Versatile Urban Assault Weapon Manufacture: Dipheox Combat Solutions Primary Fire: Select Fire Assault Rifle Secondary Fire: Semi-Automatic 12 Gauge Shotgun Special: Melee Swipe Long in the making, the Dipheox CYLO UAW is claimed by Dipheox to be the pinnacle in close quarters weaponry. Its compact design allows it to be maneuvered relatively easily in cramped conditions, and even used as a deadly melee weapon given the proper training, plus its dual firing systems mean that you won't find yourself wishing you had the right weapon equipped at the worst moment. Designed originally as a riot suppression weapon, its earlier versions failed field tests, complaints mainly focused on its massive weight. Dipheox took the design back, but before the new line of CYLO assault weapons could be mass produced, a fleet of Skrith attacked a planet owned by Dipheox. Full of pride, and determined to prove their weapon, Dipheox issued its private army the unshipped stock of first generation CYLOs to the troops stationed in the major cities of their planet. Most of the key cities were secured, but at heavy losses to Dipheox. Determined to impress the military leaders, Dipheox shipped their largely untested second line of CYLOs to their soldiers and pressed the offensive, taking the planet back with alarming success. Eventually, a deal was struck with a small military faction and from then on, the CYLO's notoriety continued to grow. It is now commonly found in service in many urban assault squads, even rivaling the legendary SAR-12 as the preferred urban assault weapon in some parts of the Outworld. Packing a larger round than the SAR-12, the CYLO's caseless 7.62x40mm rounds easily tear through walls and enemies alike. Combining that with the semi-automatic 12 gauge firing system turns this into a versatile, well rounded weapon for urban warfare. (This will be abridged in game.) [br] XLR 28 Combat Chainsaw Manuacturer: UTC Defense Tech, Phobos Division Primary Fire: Stabbing Lunge Secondary Fire: To Be Determined Special: Block Inspired by the heroic acts of a sole UTC Phobos Marine, this chainsaw is a variant of a civilian saw, well known for its reliable performance and ability to take a beating. With various improvements, such as adjustable bar reinforcements, durable alloy frame, armoured outer casing, and an upper blade guard, this saw can go through hell and back and still keep on running. While it is an icon of the Phobos Marines, it is only issued to a small number of soldiers due to its general awkwardness in close quarters combat and its inherent danger to the unskilled user. Also, the CYLO will be getting an extra special treatment.
PlasEdge has no further info at the moment. More weapons may make their way into the pack too. |

It's good the see the CYLO once again, and I think it's was the first weapon I replied on, or was it Sgt. Kelly's auto shotgun? anywho, the weapons are pretty nice. |

Yep, I'm happy to see the CYLO dusted off too. Made quite a few changes, and was brought closer to its origins in the process. Its gonna turn out simply amazing, I can tell you this much.
As for damage in melee, hmm... Well, lets just say that it could kill someone if you used enough.
No idea for the damage at this point. |

Y'know... the more I look at the CYLO, the more it looks like a piece of rectangle to me... It just needs to be streamlined a bit, and it does kinda resemble an FNP... maybe the stock should be a little bit thinner... |

Eh, might change, dunno. But its probably not gonna get a drastic overhaul. |

Oh wow! The CYLO looks quite similar to a weapon design I've really wanted to see, but lacked the skills to do myself. Exciting times. Some comments on the model: -Is that rectangular thing on the side a P90-style box magazine? It looks kinda funky to me, just slapped on there. It also looks to be backwards. -It could just be the angle, but the gun looks way too long, which is problematic for an urban weapon. You could probably lop of at least half of the stock there. -The blade is just excessive, IMO. I mean, you have an automatic rifle effective at short and medium range, and a semi-auto shotgun for CQ brawls. Leave some room for the other weapons too! -Seconding the "blocky" comments. -Where is the shotgun? -Holographic sights plz
I really ought to start a thread for my own weapon pack. |

Yay! Someone is truly excited over my CYLO other than me!
And yeah, its a P90 style box mag, and also yes, it was kinda slapped on. It was the only thing I could do that would actually fit. Dunno how it looks backwards though. I think its probably the angle, as the gun is just a tad bit longer than the SAR-12 with its stock collapsed. The shotgun is the lower barrel. The blade was something I wanted for a long time, so I wanna keep it.
I wanted holographic sights originally, but I put so much detail into the iron sights, they are an aperture sight style and look pretty kick ass on it.

Looking good Xav. An assault rifle with a shotgun is going to be kickass.
So is the chainsaw going to be a weapon you spawn with? Because it looks like it could easily overpower a player starting with an X3 Knife.
By the way, the P90 clip isn't backwards, but it does look a bit too far away from the barrel. That circular part at the end is where the normally perpendicular bullets are aligned to be parallel with the barrel assembly. On the CYLO it looks like the bullets will have to travel through the gun a bit before they actually get to the barrel. Also, they have to travel partway through the stock so don't forget to add a hole spanning the area for shell import. |

Doh, got all confused about how the magazine works. It just looks too chunky. The stock is essentially a big box, and the grip at the rear is too long. It looks kind of like a miniaturized rocket launcher, or something. |

The CYLO is a bit chunky, but most of the size is actually accounted for. Firing mechanisms in back, shotgun ammo tube underneath the lower barrel, and yeah, the rear handle is a bit long. There's a reason for this though. I just don't really know what the reason is, but I'm sure its a good one. On second look, I gotta wonder how that clip got so far forward... Oops. That can be fixed. Sgt. Kelly wrote: So is the chainsaw going to be a weapon you spawn with? Because it looks like it could easily overpower a player starting with an X3 Knife.
![]() Actually, it shouldn't overpower the other melee weapons in the least bit. It will require a lot of skill to use properly, and if you aren't cautious and careful, you could easily end up stalling out the saw or worse. I'm also thinking about making it require fuel too. Now if you can handle the chainsaw with skill and care, it could prove to be quite deadly. But it will also be loud, eliminating your chances of sneaking up on people for a quick assassination. |

UPDATE I'm gonna confirm another weapon to this pack, an older idea of mine, called the PlasEdge. Essentially a single edged sword that has plasma running along the edge of the blade instead of a typical sharpened edge. A fairly crude weapon that cuts similarly to how a good old plasma cutting torch cuts. Basically I just need to animate it and then put it in game. Shouldn't take much time to do. If I can figure out a good design, the Neo-PlasEdge might make its way in too. Its pretty much a light saber by any other name. Other than that, is there any particular weapon people would like to see in BW more than anything else? I'm open to some suggestions. I should be making more rapid updates starting next Friday, after my College is semester is done. |

So, the PlasEdge will be like the BW Lightsaber? cool

Nah, PlasEdge won't. It'll be a rather crude weapon that is essentially a single edged long sword with a plasma cutting torch style edge on it. It is the predecessor to the Neo-PlasEdge. (Names subject to change.) Neo-PlasEdge would be a much more streamlined and elegant weapon that will essentially be BW's light saber, but with a little thought taken into consideration for the physics and science of the weapon. |

I was looking at the chainsaw, and I suggest doing the alt fire UT99 Style, sweep the chainsaw. |

Yeah, I'm thinking either that and/or an upwards stab, or something a bit different, though potentially more useful. Basically, you rev it up. You just hold it to the side and rev it up. You won't be able to saw into things doing this, but it will be useful considering that your saw can stall out if you bog the blade down too much. Certainly beats letting it stall out and then try to start it back up again in the middle of combat.

However, if you got an idea for a weapon, maybe I can make it for this pack. Assuming of course its not overly complex and something I just outright don't like.
I will only take a maximum of one request weapon though. |

What about the giant-ass hydraulic claws? And do you mean one request total, or one request a person? |

One total. And I'm not terribly crazy about the claw idea at this time. I'd have to look into it later. |
