Post subject:  BW Cheats

Hello there!
I'm currently trying to write new cheats for BW because... well... reloaded doesn't work if you have even BW+Kelly's pack because of how the engine is written...

As such there will need to be several cheats for weapons to stop the same error.

I suggest weapon packs, I have figured out how to add such cheats, but I need suggestions on how to split up the weapons.
This is aimed at BW and Kelly's Pack Only. Once I have that working I will move onto other suggestions.


Example of weaponset wrote:
code: Malanok
Slot 1. Nex Plas Edge
Slot 2. GRSXX Golden Pistol
Slot 3. SKAS-21
Slot 4. FIFTY-9
Slot 5. M46
Slot 6. BULLDOG, XMB-500 Personal Minigun
Slot 7. M75-TIC RAILGUN
Slot 8. JL21-MRL PEACEMAKER
Slot 9. DARK STAR
Slot 0. BX5-SM LAND MINE

Now...
I kinda need advice... I can see two ways of doing this...

Way 1
Separate Mod
Pros: can be selected/deselected at users will, + others I've not thought about
Cons: I don't know how to code this properly, if used without the same weaponsets (ie they don't have Kelly's pack) then will cause bugs/crash UT2004... depends on how I handle the error...), + others I've not thought about

Way 2
Modified BCoreV25.u
Pros: Can built in so don't have to select it every time, I know how to code this, can disable "reloaded" code (if people think I should (no offence Runestorm!), + others I've not thought about
Cons: need Runestorm's permission to distribute (not really a con, but they get the final say), if I mess up I may break my version of UT2004 and need to reinstall, + others I've not thought about

Please, discuss ^^

P.S feel free to suggest a weapon-set (obviously if someone who helped make the mod suggests, I will add a code for them... such as Kelly's personal loadout =D (if he wants))

I wouldn't recommend doing the second option because that would require an update to the BWCore that would cause lots of unpleasant mismatches.

Depending on how the mod is created, we might be able to integrate it into the mutator that's been developed for V9 of my bonus pack. If we got new cheats in specifically for the new guns, it would be awesome. :)

You just want the use the 'reloaded' cheat for testing right? Why not create a modified version of the Ballistic Arena mut only with more control over the exact weapons that get used in the game?

Plus a little counter that tells you when you are nearing the weapon count limit

Actually, Kelly was closer ^^;

Looks like I will have to do it as a mod, but I will have to look into that later on, I don't quite know how to do that sort of thing yet ^^;

Maybe you can take advantage of the ballistic arena mutator interface and modify it so users can make their own sets. This would have the added benefit of not restricting the weapon cheats to BW weapons.

I will look into it, although I think pre-set cheats for the first version, to reduce bugs...
