Couldn't find a section where this was the actual theme but I'm needing some actual help here See: I have this one mod with really GOOD skins/characters but the problem is the mod is DEAD and since the guys who were working on it litterally vanished the mod is slowly taking the dust Now my question is: since there is all the ressources already at hand can someone tell me how to take the files from the mod to make them into skins ? Better yet, would someone be interrested in rigging up the whole thing ? |

res. = resources What mod do you speak about ? Is it for example a mod for Unreal2004 or Doom3 or Fallout ? If we don't know the sources / source format of the resources you want, we cant help you to extract/get and utilize them in any way. Edit: Evarena mod If everything is already packaged you can use UED to simply extract all the stuff you want and reimport it to your own mod. I did the same for Red Orchestra to have the player models available in stock UT2004. Also, since it is UT2004, you don't need to worry abt. any permissions. The rights on that stuff has EPIC in any case. Its clearly stated in the EULA. |

Its stated clearly in the EULA. well it is a mod for UT2004 The most interresting feature of the mod being that the armor present on the characters is translated into the actual appearance of the character I.E. some armor plates would go missing if armor reached 0, some powerups giving an additionnal detail to the character and so on Also the playermodels actually has a holding stance specific to a certain weapon as well as a specific animation for it...I would reupload the thing to Mediafire should you want to have a peek ? |

Scripting work is required for this. If you want to keep the features, you will have to either rewrite the scripts to fit UT or copy and modify the existing ones. As for that, it isn't a 5 minutes work anymore as a simple model ex-/import would have been. I don't have the time for doing so. I'm in for RK and Sgt.Kelly's Bonus-pack Beta Testing and do an own Killing Floor Mod fork as well. But by studying the UED you can do all this on your own. Hardest part might be the scripting stuff if you aren't a programmer or haven't any scripting experience yet. |

It's possible but very hard. AFAIK there is only one kind of model for the main game that has a specific feature to it that is activated with a mutator - the lawdogs and their hats. Much easier would be exporting just the plain model... Though I don't have any knowledge about that either. |

So I took a look at files Compared it to a few skins/models and in the end I managed to know the files I needed So I tried and installed the files like it was a skin (I.E. good ol' drag'n'drop) and then stuff kinda didn't work as it should have see when I went to see if it actually displayed the skins properly in the playermodel list they actually did display like they should have but when I went to see if it displayed properly in-game it only was Jackobs model....Why ? Well I think I know actually, the files I tinkered with did not feature a ".u" file, so I'm guessing its that I need to complete the whole thing ? Also if someone is interrested the mod also features a bunch of weapon models...As is the weapons are buggy and kinda feel useless when you use them but all in all their actual model is top notch... EDIT: Seeing as I have absolutely NO IDEA what I'm doing I might not understand what in god's name I'm supposed to do wich is why I will provide the ressources to rig it it back to a useable model / skin to anyone who'd be willing to do it....Should you be interrested ask below, should you want to see what the models look like before trying anything with them I may procure a screenshot for you to see thoses |
