Well, however this ends, I'd just like to say that I personally greatly appreciate the time you all put into this insanely good weapons mod. Seriously, it's really sad to see good people arguing over something rather silly but things happen and emotions run high. I understand.

Assuming we won't see this grand project really take off, I wish you all the best of luck in your endeavors just as I wished for Sgt. Kelly. Whoever you are, thanks again.

Stop telling each other that is was their fault. THAT is kindergarden mentality.

A project failing is each one's fault and not that of a single person.

So get your asses up and try to find a compromise or give in that each one of you are responsible for failing this.

This part is exceptionally relevant:

article wrote:
Additionally, the middle ground fallacy can create the rather illogical situation that the middle ground reached in the previous compromise now becomes the new extreme in the continuum of opinions; all one must do is present yet another, radically opposed position, and the middle-ground compromise will be forced closer to that position.

We previously compromised on balance in the fix by only shaving the tops and bottoms off the imbalance spectrum rather than fully rebalancing the game, and by allowing gameplay-destabilizing options and features such as the many config options and bullet-time into the Enhanced and Extreme releases. We are now being blamed for this situation that has resulted, representing a perfect example of the middle shifting towards the other side because we compromised in the first place. Had we failed to compromise on balance in the first place, and rebalanced massively, we would likely be here negotiating over exactly the same balance implementation that exists in the fix right now.

Please don't punish us for compromising before arguments have begun, and being unwilling to have our position further shifted towards what the other party wants because of a fallacious labelling. We are entitled to ask for something reasonable in exchange for our work, and without those changes, we would not only have fixed the game for absolutely no personal benefit, but the integrity of our own pending weapon release would be at stake, resulting in a complete loss for us. We tried to talk, and the answer we got was literally two words.

I have no problem admitting that we have no intention working on it if he won't meet our only criteria, I already made that evident.

We're not going to compromise any further, we're just going to go ahead and update BWFix and all the features we were contributing to BWE + finally publicly releasing our weapon pack.

We have plans to keep expanding BW with or without anyone else's help.

Well dudes this is how it is now
CF and TOWP will work separately from now on.

There will be content released but we won't have anymore a common base to work on because of that.

Is having no common base really an issue?

"Bob says we should buy a computer. Sue says we shouldn't. Therefore, the best solution is to compromise and buy half a computer."

Hhhhahahahahahah!

It is an issue. Without a common base, we would have content split across the versions of BW. This is currently the case.

I'm a tad slow this sans coffee evening. What, exactly, does this mean for the future of BWE/X/P?

Well, that's disappointing. Any chance of something being done about the current incompatibility of BFix/BWE/X/P with Ballistic add-ons?

Post subject:  Re: [BWE] Ballistic Weapons Enhanced - Discussion

The incompatibility issue means that you can't play with all the weapons packs together, and considering that few bases are updated, because stock is kind of buggy and not much performance friendly.
The whole point of BWE was pretty much to have a base with all the weapon packs being made compatible towards it.

Post subject:  Re: [BWE] Ballistic Weapons Enhanced - Discussion

That, I understand. I just wondered whether any sort of final release was going to be done to add compatibility for the various weapon packs. I have no idea how much work that would actually take, and from what I understand so far it's probably not likely to happen, but I think I speak for the majority when I say it would be vastly appreciated.

For those of you worrying about never seeing ANY update to BW, BW Fix will be out soon.

This is what I wanted with the unofficial fix from the beginning, but that is up to individual content creators. fische11 and Jack Carver have already given their support, and their weapons are compiled upon the fix. The current version of TOWP will be released within the next few days, and it is supported only on the fix and on BallisticPro. Vani's Junk War pack is pending integration.

I have a text file listing changes made to the code base, numerous additions made to simplify common tasks and processes, fixes to almost everything and the possibility of adding support in future editions of the core for features that modders want. I can't really offer any more advantage than that. If you, the players, actually want to see all the content available on this base, then make it known, because I feel that nothing is going to change in this situation without external forces acting.

We plan to continue developing the fix regardless of what happens here, as it will always be the sole standard-gameplay base for our own content. The fix integrates some of the add-ons natively, such as Team Loadout. The chance of CF Mutator now is next to zero, though.
