I asked in the other thread, but i guess this is the proper place now, IS there any way to see the rest of the weapons you made available for v21? Thanks, and i'd be eternally grateful... And sorry for being REALLY annoying, but is this compatiable with v21? the line in the readme (for the junkwar.int) doesn't say v21 in it... |

Oh, that was my mistake. I just took the old readme and updated it (well, mostly, at least). Just add a v21 at the end of it and it should work. My bad. You're not really annoying, but its just that I kind of dropped this project a while ago. I lost pretty much all my models a while ago and killed my motivation for modeling. I'm trying to pick it back up though. I might update the other ones, I don't know, but if I do, I won't know when. I'll do it when (if) I get to it. Asking won't speed me up any.
Also, you oughta try and work on making your own Junk Weapons. I got a tutorial somewhere. Its actually really really easy, you just need a model and a texture for it, though you might be able to get away with a stock texture. There's practically no coding involved, unless you consider changing labeled numbers around as coding. If you want, you can try your hand at updating the other Junk Weapons yourself, just ask and I'll send you the UDE introduction PM and you can go from there. I think all you need to do is jut Duplicate something like the FireAxe, and then copy/paste the claymore code to it, making sure that if there are any new lines from the fire axe, you keep them in. For the club, just copy the 2x4 and do the same thing. Its not terribly hard, its ust that I got other things I'd rather do. plus I'm going to Michigan State University this weekend for state regionals for quiz bowl. (Great way to skip a day of school and do practically nothing for the next two days )

cool.I just love JW... and we seem to be carrying 2 conversations, so lets just continue here. thanks for the saber. I really wanted to see the claymore tho... o well. thanks anyway. if in the future, you do decide to update them, let me know, that'd be awesome. thanx. OK, cool I'd give it a try, where can i find the tutorial? And just so we're clear, I know NOTHING about modeling or texturing... will that be a big problem? |

http://www.runestorm.com/pl/forum/forum ... .php?19608 Tutorial. Modeling is really simple. I recommend grabbing Wings3d and working from there. Unfortunately, I don't really want to write up a tutorial for modeling, but here's the basics: Vertices are the points where edges meet. They are the most important part of defining the model's shape. Faces and edges are basically just 2 or more vertices selected at one time. Keep that in mind. In the end, you will need to get the model into a .ase or .lwo format if I recall. Don't worry too much about that until you get there. There might even be a plug in or whatnot for Wings 3d that lets you export them as such. if not, there's always Blender3d which can import a great deal of file types and export them to .lwo As for texturing, well, I don't know much either, in case you didn't notice for the crappy texture work in place on my weapons.
You'll have to find your own way around that. Or, of course, just use stock textures in UT2004. http://www.wings3d.com/ http://www.blender.org/ My tutorial apparently has everything you need to know to add a Junk Weapon into the game, even a model. Cool. Keep in mind its outdated though. Its referencing older files, but you should be able to figure things out. |
