I've decided to go ahead of schedule. It is now ready for playing. It's not quite finished, I still want to add a few more details, but it looks decent and plays fast. I'll finish it the rest of the way in the coming week or so and upload it again then. |

Sorry, there's handgun pickups in two of the corners. But you can always just check off the Junk Only box for JW matches.
But why wait? This is good enough to be considered a final map, it's pretty much just needs some final touches, like a crowd cheering when kills are made and stuff. There's nothing missing and the game play and appearance won't change much (if at all) from the final version. Although I suppose I can make a JW only version though. |

Currently I have a crowd cheering in the background and it's quite a bit brighter now, you can actually see the enemy. Still having trouble making the crowd swell up when someone dies though... |

Don't know if this is plausable, but hear me out. What if the front row of spectators wern't simply 2-d objects (as I guess you're planning to use to save space and processing power), but instead where those 3-d models as seen in the UT2003 intro, then when you threw a dead body into them with the Lightning Gun, they would react accordingly. Alternatly, add a few Invasion Monsters to the crowd and set them to use an idle animation. I'm sure the Krall have some air-punching animation where they use their staff, and the Skaarj can clean their Razik as they watch the fight. Perhaps a large group, with a Skaarj Warlord in the middle surrounded by his lesser Skaarj troops and Krall, and a Skaarj Pupae sitting on the Warlord's lap like some weird pet. Ibviously, this may require some hard work, so I'll understand if you don't wish to do it. |

Now, I like the sound of this idea, but in reality, I don't think you'd even be able to see them. This pit is part of something huge, and the stadiums are really far back, plus there's a red fog that kind of limits your sight anyways. It is a good idea though. I am planning on making quite a few fighting pits though. I might implement it in one of them. But my next map is going to be another fighting piut style arena set in a dungeon type thingy. It'll be a bit bigger than this one, but still very small. Also, more hazards will be in it. There will probably be a pool of water too, as kind of a defense against lightning gunners and flamers. But I'll see about your request. I got an idea for maybe a street brawl, you'll be fighting in a dark alley, walls on three sides and a barrier on the other with spectators there. Sound like a good way to implement your idea?
Also, a little tip for this map; if your enemy is still alive, you won't have a lot of time to cock two sidearms. Best bet is to kill him/her with one sidearm, then pull out the other one when the enemy is dead. Also, use those poison hazards to your advantage! If you stand between them you got fairly good concealment, and you can trick or knock the enemy into them with a bit of skill. They don't do much damage but it helps. Also, if you got lightning guns enabled, you can hold them under there with the pri. fire, killing them very fast. You might not necessarily get the kill, but if the gas gets them it counts as a suicide and lowers their kill count. Also, the map is done! There isn't extra cheering when you get a kill implemented, but if I can figure it out some time it will be added. For now though, it's done! |

Hmm, in BridgeOfFate, when a bot sent me off the edge it says something like ''Virus sent Raptorian over the edge'', and judging from that it was counted as a kill, so maybe this acid is like that, unless you specifcally set it up like the way you did. But yeah, if geographically it wouldn't be good, forget it for now. And another idea - a Skaarj Honour Arena, with a large area for a Queen to stand there, and with 2 or 4 bodyguards on the platform as well. The rest is lined with lower Skaarj and Krall in stands. The fighing area itself is littered with Skaarj crates, Skaarj Fighter parts (perhaps a destroyed Skaarj Fighter that remains mostly intact), and a few weapons at the corners. If you remember the Geonosis Arena from SW Ep 2: The Clone Wars, you may be able to imagine it better, though on a much smaller scale. Or, if the RS team hurries up and models or at least makes concept art of the Skirth, this could be made more directed at them, with most default weapon pickups like the Skirth Rifle and a few random Terran ones. |

Ok, I'll look into Bridge of Fate. As for the Skaarj Honour arena, that very thought came to my mind, onlt I was thinking maybe an underground arena instead, but its still open to ideas though. Take note, I don't really plan on doing the Skaarj one until later, wanna get some other maps done first. |

Er, it doesn't? Maybe it didn't download correctly, as my download counter on Filefront hasn't changed... Try re-downloading it again, I have uploaded several versions before I thought anyone had a chance to download the versions that seemed to not work (I deleted the previous versions). Maybe you somehow got the wrong version. Ah, shoot... the Mylevel integrated package doesn't work for sounds or something... :S Somehow I got a sound package or two from maybe UT99 or Unreal thrown into my Sounds folder... didn't know about it till later, but I tried to fix it... didn't work... now it should though. Try downloading it again. |

Yep... it works now... Nice small map for frantic slash-fests with Ballistic Melee. Kudos for the atmosphere... it feels like a very serious Mortal Kombat fight. Some suggestions: -Add 2 more doorways/spawn points. It's kinda predictable where a person spawns from, so it's easy to counter-attack. -Add more death zones. The green toxic gas is already a nice touch. Exploding barrels, lava traps, and maybe spike pits can also do wonders for this map. |

I know what you're saying about the spawn points, but adding more would ruin the flow and displace the poison vents. However, I will instead put some grating in front of the arena doors, gives you a bit of protection and hides where you are a bit better. As for more traps, sorry, not for this level. I am working on a dungeon-like pit though, a bit bigger and its got some traps. Er, will have some. Quite a few of them too. But I think I might make another level in the same setting as this one, only bigger and full of even more traps and hazards. |

Methinks the 2 extra doors could be side-by-side with the existing ones, so they don't mess with the toxic vents. |

Hmm... that's an interesting idea. I might do that. Just checked my map... that won't really work... gonna need some major landscaping done, gonna kinda chage the map a bit too drastically. I will implement that idea into another map though.
I'll see what I can do about the spawning though. Still thinking about the grating as one of the better choices. |
