So what's this mutator all about ? kind of lazy to test it myself

UT2 was ok, but had real problems with it.

First time hearing of such mod, and UT99 played without any mod at all.

Tried it, and it didnt worked, instead of new game types it loads standart death match, and non of the new mutators work.

The only part I liked was the Construction Gun, but it sucks in comparison to the Pillar Gun (which I already had). On top of that, I've been able to mod the Pillar Gun to now have a lot more stuff in it for useability.

Pillar Gun and Portal Gun, the two most useful tools for UT2004! Translocator just doesn't have as much soul as the those two.

the U4E team has sort of drifted off into a permanent hiatus. they have a lot of weapons for the 2k4 version, though much less than the original UT version. their quality is perhaps one notch down from ChaosUT, and perhaps one notch sillier like Duke Nukem. I have read some complaints that some of the publically available downloads don't work right. I haven't installed U4E in a long time, so I don't even know if I'm using the last version posted.

The coolest thing they did was make a Gauntlet Invasion mode, with enemy generator gates you had to destroy before being overwhelmed. they had new monsters to go with them, and if I remember correctly, you can set other monsters to spawn from the gates

Highlights include:
a phaser gun that upgrades each time you pick it up, reduces people to skeletons, and is perfect for use with the MarsAttacks invasion monster.

A nuclear doll bomb

the fleshbomb rifle. snipe some one, watch them explode and take out their team mates

the IAM, which is basically a gravity gun strong enough to toss around vehicles

the quicksilver, the closest thing to a Runestorm style machine pistol weapon before Ballistics, except the bullets are steel flechettes that bounce

the reaper, a thrown blade weapon like the Glaive of Krull or Xena's chakram

they also had a compound bow with multiple arrow types, sorta of in a beta state. unfortunately, the way the arrow tends to drop, the bots can't hit the broadside of a barn with it. and yes, the arrows stick out of you if they hit, like the ripper blades, crossbow bolts, or nailmine spikes of ChaosUT.

the QSG, which basically creates a black hole and sucks everything in.

the riftpad, which basically sets up portal gates.

U4E was fun in its time, and it was one of the best game packs for UT1. Things have moved on since then though. The only things I'd really want to bring out of U4E 2k4 to mix in with Ballistics would be the hellsaw and the IAM, and the IAM's function is duplicated in some part by how the lightning weapon will grab and bounce things around. ChaosUT2, on the other hand, has a couple things I like to combine with Ballistics and a quality level that matches Runestorm's work - however they use their own set of special function keys, and they don't all overlap with the Ballistics keys. makes setting up a decent keyboard layout to use both a tad interesting - and they don't have a reload or clip function. I wish ChaosUT and Ballistics would be a little more compatible, and it would be great if Runestorm could get access to the ChaosUT stuff! The main thing U4E has over anything else out there is the Gateways Gauntlet invasion mode - no one has really done an updated version of that.

U4E has alot in it, but methinks its silly crap. (my opinion ofcourse) Doll bombs, cmon thats just too far off.
You can laugh once about all its stuff, but after that its over for me and U4E.

I did like the gravity gun thingie, although it is way to easy to smash people dead.
