I don't know,from the forums it seems like they have very little idea what they are getting into.
The performance drain would be frightening.
I have enough trouble with 1 portal.

I can run loads of portals smoothly. (I placed some around with the SDK editor)

If people can't run multiple portals then they should lower their details or Portal Depth.
Or buy a new PC ^^

Its true that new games always take a better PC to run them, but why would the game companies make a crappy game?

I do think your PC is capable of running some new games on lowest graphics. It is the gameplay which is important for most games. If you can't... well... then I do suggest sticking to the old classics or get an upgrade.

I'd say this would be called "Marketing". I always wondered why hardware produces, such as nVidia and Intel, sponsored so many high-end game.

Game Developer: "All right. The game is finally finished. Beautiful story line, great gameplay, decent graphics... uh-oh. That nVidia representative is givein me 'the look'. Time to add a million more polygons to every blade of grass."

There are several turrets around your Cake/Cube, and you can replace them by picking them up (makes em go up again like in Half Life 2 hacked turrets). Or using portals ofcourse.
Heh, you refresh your portals, place 1 under a turret of yours and then on the ceiling infront of your enemy xD

But I would really love to see a fully developped Portal Multiplayer, not just a lame co-op with 3 people.
People can make stuff like Garrysmod so that shouldnt be too hard!

Ooh heres a good one.
For steal the cube,each team has a beloved Weighted Companion Cube.
Each team also has a (something)(something)(something)Incinerator.
Objective,steal the enemy companion cube and chuck it down your incinerator.
Losing team breaks out in tears.

Additional items,aformentioned team based turrets perhaps 2 per team,cubes for blocking turret fire and as ammunition for throwing and other portal mischief,the cake(capture this and chuck it down your incinerator for a extra turret or some normal cubes(probably respawning).
