This is about a old mod that I find extremely fun, however the community has withered to dust. I occasionally host a listen server and play against bots, rather dull over time without some sturdy competition however it is still very entertaining. If you have Quake 3 arena you are welcome to stop by(if I'm playing it,my time on this game is erratic). Slight lag might be a problem but I have broadband and this is a rather old game so if we keep the players to a low amount there should be no problem. Here is the site that has details on the mod: http://www.batmite.com/ Here is the mod you'll want to get(note there is two different versions, the one I use is NOT the official version, some might go as far as say the idea was stolen but by my argument Batmite did better ),there is also a skin pack in the link I'm about to give you so get that to(I use it on my server):SHA Filefront
I desperately want to play this with other people so please stop by,anyone! |

Just tried that out,my evaluation, really good. But SHA appeals more to those who like customizable loadouts. Generations is for people who like classes. Being a avid Tribes player,I prefer SHA over Generations. Both have their unique flavors however,so I'm not ditching one for the other. Thanks. |

Well it seems that there is little interest,as predicted. So as a excuse to sorta bump this topic and hopefully get some players I'm going to make sure my 'server' is up every Friday beginning next week.I really hope to see people making visits regularly, even at least for a few times. |

Then download Open Arena you idiot! LOL Its a game based on the ioQuake engine that replaces quake3 and supports all of its original features(like mods, models, maps, etc). |

Well hope to see ya adam, remember however my game time with that is erratic so check on it once in a while. I'm still planning on the every Friday rule so thats a good guarantee. Also as I said we can always get some communication going and start up the server(Man I hope it actually works). And remember this is to ALL who read this, just trying to get some people back on this game. EDIT:By the way,is there a possible way to show on these forums when my server is up? Like through my sig,I know it can be done with UT(example) but can it be done with an old game like quake? This could come in handy,if people might be interested in showing up. |

I noticed it said I needed the Q3 Point Release 1.32 or something, so I'm getting that as well (should I?). Then I'll be off playing with Quake to see how I can do (or how bad I am!). |
