Just a random m91/30 that I got a little while ago, its got a hex reciever, dated 1941 which is odd as Hex reciever production stopped in 1935, they must of had a batch of recievers that werent assembled into rifles. Which makes sense, it would be quicker to use old parts then to made new parts. That and the rifle shortage the russians had wasnt to good either.

Nope this is a different rifle. This is a mosin nagant m91/30. This Particular rifle Was Made in Russia in 1941 sometime before or after Operation Barbarrosa (Hitler's plan to invade soviet union) began. Due to the shortages of weapons the overall look of the rifle suggests poor qaulity, which is quite the contrary as the rifle looks to be of poor manufacture but attention to detail was applied where needed. Many of the rifles were sent to the Ukraine after the second World war to be refitten, refinished, repaired, and stored incase war with the west broke out which is why that particular family of rifle is in such good condition. These can be had for about 100-150 dollars at any major sporting goods store that sells firearms, they usualy come with a double pocket ammo pouch, a cleaning kit, a dog collar sling and the spike bayonet. The ammo is also cheap but most of the old wartime ammo is corrosive and must be cleaned out with hot soapy water to flush away the salts in the ammunition left in the bore after firing.
Very accurate rifles and a joy to shoot, recoil is pretty stiff but as long as you find the point under neath where the ball of your shoulder meets your collar bone where its mostly muscle and fats you absorb much of the recoil. Also slip on recoil pads can help as well.

The bayonets that are imported with the rifle arent original to the rifle, the importers take all the stuff throw it into a pile then couple it with a rifle when they ship it. But unknown to them each barrel of the rifles are not a consistant and uniform diameter so each bayonets had to be fitted to each rifle, So sometimes you get a bayonet that wont fit the rifle it came with and then some will fit perfectly fine. Also in the field bayonets werent removed unless the soldier was cleaning the weapon or traveling in a vehicle. Back then mass bayonet charges were a completely legitimate strategey.
