It's easy enough for the betatesters to make comments like this. Yes, I can wait, but I don't really consider exploding backpacks to be a particuarly important part of 2.0.

Also, exploding backpacks is a feature, and features do not equal quality. By your logic 2.0 should not be released until every weapon RS is planning on making is fully ingame. Releasing 2.0 with bugs and half working weapons is one thing, releasing it without exploding backpacks is totally different.

That said as a betahead myself. {Not here but elsewhere} the end is what the dev team wants to consider the project ready. If the devs want better exploding backpacks, then the game is not done. I can wait.

@sgnl05: Yes, it IS easier for beta testers to be patient about the release. That said, it's not your job to whine about RS taking it's time to complete features they want ingame. If you trust them to do a good job, then trust them to do it. If you don't, go elsewhere and find a mod you DO like.

@Meatboy: Thank you for being mature about it. That's a very rational attitude and I appreciate hearing it. Patience and understanding are virtues I see less and less these days, especially online.

I'm not whining. I'm well aware that RS is a mod team and as such they owe me (or anyone else) precisely nothing. In the end they'll release when they feel like it, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

However. I was expressing my opinion, and not only do I have a right to that, I don't think I'm misguided in thinking that RS actually wants their fans to have their say. Remember this thread where Shadowblade asked people whether they'd prefer more stuff or a shorter release time? Also, why do they have a forum at all? Could it be because Runestorm actually wants the opinions of the people that play their mods? I certainly think so.

I'll admit that my first post could have been worded a little better, but even so, it was just what I thought. I did not "tell" RS to do anything, and I'll be damned if I sit here and let people flame me over it. If you disagree with what I have to say then by all means, make a post about it, but keep it civil.

If they reallly want beter backpack explosions then I will wait till they are done. It would be nice beiing shot and fliing around with a nice sound and effects to it is an great way to go .
Doesn't that happen IRL to if you shoot a flamers backpack (eccept that fliing part ).

we'll trying to move with this release, (its taken long already) and theres not too many bad bugs left.. minor crud things not worth considering *fixing* can wait.. we'll fix things that harm gameplay and cause problems.. averything else is preference really

RS listens too its fans.. we hear your input, and consider what you say.. some people come up with very good stuff, suggestions and such.. thanks to them essentially any requests and suggestions are taken seriously.. if we dont really like a suggestion, it dont mean we didnt think about its possibility.. but we have ideas of what WE want in our mod, and that comes first

Nobody can judge the backpack until they've seen it for themselves! The thing being crap is the opinion of BJ alone... As a beta tester, Bjossi, we would have expected you to report this in the beta forum a long time ago instead of informing the public that an uncomplete feature that they cannot judge for themselves is crap! That is a pointless abuse of beta tester privileges!

The effects are being improved now anyway. I'm sure lots of people will like the feature when its released, cause its unique and really hilarious to see your enemies take flight with a rocket attached to their back...

Hoooold on for a minute, I thought this was supposed to be a backpack explosion, not a rocket. When fuel gets ignited, it explodes. How you are going to explain the rocket feature is going to be tough.

Bjossi he is saying that the ignition of the backpack will give a result similar to a rocket strapped to your back. Thus, you ignite it, they fly up like a rocket, and the entire pack explodes.

The way I'd have wanted it, is that the backpack will explode when it gets damaged enough. The explosion would be pretty big and loud, causing the wearer to be just a skeleton on fire that flies up in the air.

I will lock this if the current discussion is not dropped.

anyways.. the flame pack is like a rocket, coz a standard explosion isnt unique enough.. its better this way
