Yeah, I got rid of all my spammy maps and the Toxic Grenade all together.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the Toxic grenade in loadout?

I got rid of it in the BallisticV2.ini file.

To get rid of the toxic grenade, can't you just disable it in the Loadout configuration?

Also, for the record, anyone know how many bytes (or bits) of data would be send for your average instant hit gun? I'm just curious because I am compelled to agree that the minigun would really lag the pipes. Consider that nothing shoots all too fast with stock UT weapons. The minigun is the fastest, whicih fires about 5 bullets per second, I'd guess. Now, consider the minigun spewing 60 bullets per second. I would assume that the trajectory of each bullet would have to be transmitted over the internet to all the other servers. Not only are ther 60 packages per second, but each bullet may hit multiple surfaces, since bullets go through wall. So, anyone know how much data is sent out for each shot with the minigun? It would be a fun math exercise to then calculate how many bytes are sent per second if we have, say, 3 people shooting each other with the minigun.

Sometimes I get a similar sort of thing, where it looks like the game's locked up or lagged out, but then it resumes it's normal pace exactly where it stopped, and not sort of skip forward a bit.
Can't remember whether or not I had BW installed the first time it happened though.

Edit: oops, should have mentioned, this usually happens 5-6 seconds after the first spawn, or somewhere just before/after I hit a Powernode. Come to think of it, it only happens in Onslaught as well. Hmm.

I think I have fixed Mine Heres is what to do:

First In Game Settings

Network - Dynanic Netspeed Off
Under Grafix Preload All Player Skins

All other Grafix turn to LOW and work your way up until your happy.

UT2004.ini Settings VERY Important

I assume you have 1 gb of Ram

Search For CacheSizeMegs=32 Change to 512
Serach For CubeMap Change to False
Search For Triple Buffering Change to True

I did this and went from 80fps to 111...

REMEMBER Dont crank your GFX All the way up because you have some badass GFX card or Machine. Be Reasonable.

It is not a good idea to allow the cache to use up 50% of total system memory, 256 I'd consider the max if you have 1 GB.

Thats what the Swap file is for, That needs to be set to 1.5 times your Total Memory.

Doesnt effect anything.

512 Is a great Number 256 didnt do a whole lot.


Plus if you have 10 other things going on in the back ground while playing Ut your a moron anyway.
