Mauser pistols are a good design, kind of a large pistol but very effective, first chambered for 7.65 then l;ater upgraded to 9mm and a alarge red paint filled 9 was carved into the grip, thats how the 9 mm version got the name "red 9"

Personaly i dont see the ak in many games, only a few games. A gun that is over rated is the m16/m4 rifles.

Fat zombie, you should have said the FAMAS is no AK. FAMAS is about as good but the thing wieghing it down is the caliber.

Ak-47s should not be scoped, they are not designed to use scopes, the rifle is accurate up to bout 300 meters which is well within human ability to see and shoot effectively with iron sites. I tihnk a seperate grenade launcher would be better instead of a launcher mounted onto the rifle. For the secondary fire i think it should be a rifle bash.

Caliber? Don't blind me with science. All I know is that when I point the FAMAS at people in CSS, they fall over more often that not. And it has multiple firemodes for me to play with, and it looks nice.

Anyway. I'm bored of the AK47, and the M16, they bore me. We need unusual guns that haven't been done that many times! (Or the tommy gun, which has been done a few times but is excused because it's awesome, of course)

EDIT: That World Guns site has plenty of odd and strange weapons; why not implement the Korobov TKB-408? Or even the Chinese QBZ-95?

The 3:rd from above. Well said except I don't like the tommy gun. The m16 and it's variations are really boring as well but a hell alot prettier than the ak-47. I myself am in favor of the G3 I think. I like the xm8 as well.

Hmmm. Some interesting bullpup-styled weapons. I usually hate them. I like the Korobov, would be interesting as a police gun. Perhaps the ability to switch to semi-nonlethal tazers? It's only semi-non lethal if you get hit with one or two, of course. Hit with several, you'll fry. Especially painful if they hit the head or any other place with extensive bodily fluids, whether it be blood, or brain juice or whatever. So, hitting em in the foot hurts less than in the chest or abdomen. Yes, I realize it travels near-instantly. making the idea tricky. Maybe bursts of electricity is emitted? That way it's not near instant death....

a bullpup is one of my favorite weapon desingns.
also the GL should have seperate ammo. scene the grenades detnate on impact, regular grenades bounce around. it would fell like a gloryfied pineapple grenade.
for a carbine, i thinking of something like a modern milatary style semi-auto rifle with a small scope and laser sight.

No, the Ranger could best be described as a Selfloading Rifle, or perhabs even a "battle rifle".
It reminds of guns like th M1 Garand, G-43, or the SVT-40.

A propper Semi Carbine would be more along the lines of the M1 Carbine, SKS-45, or the Civilian version of the Ruger Mini-14, quite a bit shorter than the Ranger, and fiering a smaller caliber, but having a larger Magazine.

Actually, something along the lines of a Mini-14 or SKS would be cool, maybe even the Type-68 (Chinese version of the SKS, build to use AK mags instead of an internal mag).

The type 68 was about 7 different rifle designs in one, looks like an sks but not quite an sks. Still an interesting design.

Yeah the ranger rifle is basicaly a battle rifle like the Garand.

I love my M1 carbine.

The Mini14 has a few problems though, like when the barrel heats up it can wobble quite a bit making you aim go off.

The SKS is a fine weapon, i own two yugoslavian versions and they are some of my finest shooting rifles in my safe, plus they both got grenade launchers on em http://www.simonov.net/uberyugo.htm

Fat zombie, if you dont put the right Caliber, which means diameter or size of bullet into the firearm then you are very likely to lose a body part or an eye.

The XM8 is plastic trash, its basicaly a German G36 in a cheaper plastic disguise. The G36 is good, but the xm8 is just WAY too much plastic.

The M16 is ugly. The Ak47 is ugly. But combat is not a beauty contest.

I remember that they changed the plastic to be metal at one point IIRC. It still looks good, and performs well in reliability (you can't deny that!).

Ak performs better, and like i said earlier, looks dont count.

Never heard of them changing the XM8 to metal parts, probably just aluminum. Plus the main Reason i dont pay attention to it is because the project got sh** canned because funds were cut. That and the HK416 is gonna breath life into the dead design of the m16. The HK416 is an m16 with a G36 gas system, making the weapon a whole lot more reliable, still no ak but plenty good.

Looks is almost the only thing that counts when adding them to some game or whatever. Weapons in games are not fun to use if they don't look good enough.

Looks are subjectibe though, i for one love the utilitarian look of an AK, it's just plain all buisness and no nonsense, it oozes dependabillity and raw power.

Whereas i hate the look of guns like the XM8, it looks like a toy, i woulden't want to trust my life to that thing, and whats with all the streamlined shapes? it's a gun, not an F1 racecar or a fighter jet, its just plastic eyecandy nonsense, its not even ergonomic and pleasent to hold.


But regardless, looks are no reason to include or exclude a gun from a game, because nomatter how it looks, there will be some who likes it, and some who dont.

I agree that the look of the xm8 is a bit too plastic but with some imagination it could be changed to make it look better. :3

Nobody said we had to agree on what looks good anyway, so i say give people the guns, and let them decide which ones they like and want to use.

This applies to many different weapons in BW, but I don't want them to be removed. I'll just use something else, even if that something else is a Glock with a laser cannon mounted under it.

Why should any weapon that's added be removed? I disable of the weapons I don't like.

There are certainly things i feel are more important now than guns, some features could do with some spit polish and an angle grinder to smooth out some edges, but once that's done, i say bring on the guns!

You can allways disable them if you don't like them.

I'm thinking a kind of Steyr AUG. I'm not much of a gun expert or anything, but there sure are a lot of funky different types, and wouldn't look out of place in BW at all.
