I don't know why...but it seems that I can't get the decal effects of Bloody Hell anymore.

I mean, I still get the blood spray/explosion of Bloody Hell, but shooting someone, killing someone, having a body splat against a wall, or sliding along the floor does nothing. It seems to have started, or rather, stopped, since v1.72.

And no, I have nothing else on except Bloody Hell, Ballistic Sprint and Ballistic Weapons when I tested this.

Is gore level set to maximum setting in the UT2004 settings?
I think a fresh reInstall of the game should fix this problem, but it is a far fetched method...

No no...this reinstall is less than a couple of months old...no major mods after Ballistic Weapons.

Again, once I went from 1.71 to 1.72, I had noticed this. I remember because when I had 1.71, I showed a friend of mine a screenie of the MRT6 [Pocket-Shotty] + a close range double-barrel blast, and it had a floor splat, and a streak of blood.

Everyone else with 1.72 has had it [Bloody Hell] work normally, hm?

If that won't work, try delete the default INI files.
And make a backup first, so you won't lose your settings if the deleting doesn't do anything.

I got it...it was either Coronas or Projectors...I had them off.

I'm not sure what either are, and I had disabled them during a franting period in which I was trying to up my frame rate...

Coronas are shiny lights; and projectors are objects attached to something, like grass attached to the ground.
I find it odd how those affect blood effects.

yeah i have Coronas turned off but i still get all the effects, i do still have the projectors on though, yeah can't live without them.

Hm...so, to summarize, you need projectors on to have Bloody Hell work?

That should probably be put into the readme or something...not necessary, though.

Well, the reason I brought it up once more is because I thought that Bloody Hell was exclusive to the Gore option [which was at full, btw]. Plus I don't know what half of those things in the checklist are.

Considering that activating projectors eats up performance in levels that use them heavily, I'd expect him to stay away from them. And by the way, I know what every single graphics setting does.

Of course, i should have known.

I've never mentioned this because it was never a real problem for me, but I've never been able to get Bloody Hell to work, with the exception of blood clouds from explosions. Don't know what's causing it, I've tried everything that has been suggested for people with similar problems.

I've done everything you've suggested too. I have the same problem, only it doesn't bother me too much. Still, it would be nice to see it in action. My theory is that my computer simply isn't good enough. Hell, I'm surprised my little iBook can cope with what I put it through at the moment! I need a new computer.

well i don't even remember if they're their or not, ever since i saw the new BW screens i've somehow bored with BW until i get to dual wield, which i'm really hating.

HEY.. sorry i'm late yeah the problem WAS projectors.. they need to be on to work!! as u should know, projectors are decals and stuff, u seem them in the level casting tree shadows and stuff..

Actually it is doubtful, he has a slow processor and 2x less memory than recommended. With projectors on, he will probably see a decent framerate drop everytime the computer has to generate the BW blood effects.

And that FX 5200, I'm angry at nVidia for even release that piece of crap to the public.
