Not being a coder, I couldn't tell you... that's just what I noticed is all. I didn't extensively test it either, it's just something I kind of noticed while it was happening.

I found a Cool/Odd Glitch with the Wilson 41-DB

Infinite Desperation Shot. With the 41-DB Revolver Use Beserk, then start using alt fire (Note: You Must have Disable Reloading ON and must have plenty of ammo) by pressing Alt fire repeatedly, it can shot the same rate as primary can, when beserk is done, you can still do it.

who uses Disable Reloading, lol.

I do, for one. If I want extreme realism, I'll go play one of the ten million cookie cutter games out there. I like realism weapons, but only to a certain point, and BW lets me set that point.

While I'm fairly happy with the current damage settings (guns shouldn't be too easy to use, imo; that gets lame real fast), it certainly wouldn't hurt to have a second, more powerful version. It could be called the ViPeR Mark II, ViPeR XP, LE... whatever.

Now, the upgrade could be as basic as increasing all damage settings and tightening the spreadshot, or it could be a bit fancier with recolored projectiles & power cell (orange, red?), a new death effect for the laser (flaming skeletonization), and maybe a reskinned weapon model too.

Thoughts, suggestions? How much do you think the damage should be amped?

If someone wants to edit the weapon and release it as an 'unofficial' mod, be my guest. I could sponsor it I suppose, but only if it can be done relatively cheap. Of course, if someone wants to put his money where his mouth is and co-sponsor, that would be most welcome.

One thing I have against the current ViPeR is the arrangement of its various commands and functions. I'd prefer if we simply had 2 firemodes to cycle through: Pulse and Beam.

Primary fire would contain the long range attacks, while Alt-fire gets the close-range ones. Primary would hold the Series pulse and current Beam mode, while Alt-fire shoots the multi-pulse and, well, I'm not sure yet. Maybe a short-range plasma wave, or something like the Shield gun primary?

Sniper mode (The retracting scope is a nice touch, by the way) would be an Iron Sights function, of course. In Pulse mode, it would fire a fast-moving plasma bolt, while in Beam mode it shoots a high-powered, short-lived super-beam. Secondary fire would toggle some kind of helpful function, like a Health/Shield indicator, and maybe a lead indicator for sniper pulses, at the cost of visibility.

Since it really wouldn't make sense to keep the weaker version of a weapon revised weapon, a MkII would have to be a replacement.

How much did you have to spend to sponsor all of these guns, by the way?

If you're going to replace the ViPeR with a version that charges (something about a "short lived beam" makes me think this) then count me out of downloading any patch. It's fine the way it is, just the damage needs to be increased some.

By "Short-Lived", I'm not referring to something like the A42 Secondary fire. It would be more of a quick beam burst. Like maybe 1 second of continuous, high-powered, beam fire, followed by 1.5 to 2 seconds of cool-down. And it would only happen while looking down the scope in Beam mode.

Don't make the beam reange or time limited! I'm sick of limited beams! Not to mention that beams are rare enough.

Its kinda wierd imo, but why on earth does the plasma rifle's beam weapon generate recoil? Not that it is annoying or bad, its just wierd.

Other than that, the new pack made bw even more awesome. I had a blast yesterday playing with the new guns. The HAMR and the plasma rifle were absolutely HOT.

The staffs were also pretty damn nice with the soul collecting thing and the super powers that you got after getting a full charge up.

Hevent tried the thor yet but Im looking forward to try it out and drive over goliaths with those monster threads.

Btw, all this mod lack from weapons is a chargable beam cannon from terrans.

If it was projecting a cohesive stream of plasma, there would be a rather steady recoil force from the gun. If it was just a laser (which it probably isn't), then there wouldn't be any recoil.

Oh, and one thing I feel the ViPeR needs is a visual representation of the ammo levels remaining in the magazine. Since the magazine's just a clear container full of...stuff, it should visibly change as the magazine is depleted.

Agreed. Maybe the yellow glow could faint as you fire the gun.

Plasma is by far the most common form of matter. Plasma in the stars and in the tenuous space between them makes up over 99% of the visible universe and perhaps most of that which is not visible. Therefore it seems reasonable that since plasma is matter that there would be a felt recoil in its projection or firing like any other matter ie a bullet.

It's kind of pointless to argue about realism where plasma weapons are concerned, considering the whole "slow-moving plasma ball" thing is probably the least realistic implementation of a plasma-based weapon, ever.

Yup, that's correct.

Believable? Not really. Plasma flamethrowers wouldn't be very feasible either, considering plasma's density. Read that article I linked.

A sniping beam weapon that charges, then? I think I'd really rather have the crappier pulse version, at least that one I can actually keep firing.

I like the beam on this thing BECAUSE it can be a continuous laser, something you really don't see much of anymore. Don't take that away
