One little thing about the gore. Maybe for something like 2.5, the individual gibs could have a bit of blood spewing out of each part, just making even more of a mess.

That's just the thing, I do have a pretty old rig (athlon 2000+, 768 mb ram (speed I don't know), and an old GeForce 5600

thats not a bad rig.. the gore is really not that slow

the slow weapons are minigun, and sometime flamer.. all in all, its fairly well optimised..

We've tried to optimize many of our effects now. We can also try adding in some more gore options to scale it all down a bit...

How about this: if you're close to a player who just exploded into bloody gibs, you get blood splattered on your screen as well...?

That shouldn't be TOO hard to code, butit might be a bit excessive.

Yeah, its really a lot of hard work testing this out and looking for bugs... is so hard it almost feels like fun!
