Post subject:  Bright Skin in Ballistic Mod not working
I was reading in a readme file that there is an option to enable bright skins like the option to enable BrightWeapons. But there is no BrightSkins option in the config file (oversight?), is it me, or is player skins more dark when using this mod.

Is there a way to make player skins brighter

well their their, just go into the Ballistic Weapons mut and open it, it is their. But i don't know where it is in the Ballistic gametypes.

theres an option on my local machine but I asking this info about a server. there is no such option for server admin

oh, if this has to do with a server PM Wup, he's the RS server tester, if it has to do with servers he knows.

There was an option to disable ambient lighted models, because it is damn ugly to see models light up in pitch black rooms, plus it is more fun not knowing what is shooting at you from a dark corner or room.

I think this is just an option, not sure where it is though.

Hey Rs team is there a Line in the Ballistic Items that allows Brightskins??? I See AllowBrightPickups but not skins, If so what is the syntax to add it?


Found it. Look in your UT2004.ini file and find this section

[Ballistic.Mut_Ballistic]
bUseItemizer=True
ItemGroup=Ballistic
bOldCrosshairs=False
bLeaveSuper=False
bBrightPickups=False
bDarkSkins=True <------------------Turn that to False
bBallisticInvGroups=True
bSpawnUniqueItems=False
bPickupsChange=False
bRandomDefaultWeapons=False
CamUpdateRate=1
bUseViewAim=True

Try it and let me know.

I'm sure Dark Skins was an option in the config, maybe they accidentally removed the option from the GUI.

I don't think that is neccesary, but I'll do that if he creates a 3rd thread with a similar issue.

Either way, I can't see Dark Skins option in the GUI, maybe I'm just overlooking it.

Probably because this isn't a part of the mod, maybe the mod just activates this feature in the main game.

I got the dark skins to work only thing now is players show up with a blue color trying to figure out how to have it bright with no team overlays, if not i'd rather turn it off. I used UTComp, I dont have a line in the ini file for dark skins, I'll try to add the line for kicks to see if it works . But it works and thats what important
