Post subject:  XRS-10 Machine-Pistol inventory bug

There is an inventory bug regarding the XRS-10 Machine-Pistol. This weapon doesn't appear in the Arena Mod (other mods not tested yet). I first have to throw all other weapons of this slot away to use it. I think this happened after installation of the lightning gun plugin. By the way the bots are using it quite jaunty.

I have noticed that sometimes if the gun is picked up it never shows up again but its ammo does.

Did you try to press the number key? If there are 2+ weapons in the same class (1 - 9), pressing the same number twice or more will cycle through them.

Yep the gun is not in my inventory. It seems that the first one to get the gun wins it for the round. I have got the pick up some times and it never reappears although the ammo does. Other times the only chance to get the weapon is through a kill.

There was a bug where it conflicted with the rs8 and prev/next weapon would skip it, I think, but that's been fixed now... I've never had trouble getting the XRS10, though.
You say the problem is to do with selecting, not the pickup spawning, right? I mean you see it lying there and you pick it up, but you can't get to use it?

No if you see the gun and someone else gets it it never shows up again nor will any other pistol type weapon, but the ammo will still show up for all types just no gun.

Ok here is what I just found out.

Map CTF Grassy Knoll

Weapon location facing towards base lower left entrance there is a spot for pistol pickups

Played via instant action with ballistc mut running. Single play bot match.

I noticed that if I get the weapon first then the guns will rotate as normal but idf a bot gets the pistol first only the ammo types will show up for the rest of the game. Played through four games rushing to get the gun first twice and letting a bot get it first. If I get the gun no problems but once the bot gets the gun all pistols type disappear. Did not check to see if I kill a bot and gain a pistiol if it would respawn.

Hi, I'm back, was without internet for a week :(

Well, my problem is that I can see the weapon and pick it up when a bot drops it (Arena mode) but I can't select it in the weapon bar. Neather with NEXT/PREV weapon keys nor with numbers ( I pressed the hell out of 2 )
But if I drop all other Pistols and guns assignet to this slot ( the normal pistols, the hkmp5 replica ) the last gun is the XRS-10 and I can use it without problems.
I a weird problem because I tested the new weapons (Weapon pack 1) in the Arena mode and had no problems, as far as I remember. But with the weapon pack 2 something happened. By the way I've copied the .int file in the proper folder of my root ut installation, this made the in game key management possible (linux).

I didn't test the behaviour of the weapon in a normal game yet, well how could I this weapons doesn't appear regually, have to make some changes first....

Will give a full test report on monday.

Maybe something will show up till then.

Back again and least for me I is repeatable. Any map I have played on that has a spot for a pistol pickup does indeed make the machine pistiol go away if a bot grabs it first.

Back again with this lil goodie. After playing with the bug I have found out that it is the XRS-10 Machine-Pistol model itself in bot match that is causing the problem all other pistol types will rotate through with no problems. However when the XRS-10 has it's turn as a pick up and a bot touches it, all pistol types will disappear, leaving only the ammo pickups. We tested this in lan play and found that player can get the gun no problem. Only when a bot gets it does it and all other pistol types go away. Werid huh :| Thought this info might be worth the bump, if not sorry for the bump.
