Change log topic was locked , so, I couldn't reply. I have seen this happen on three different machines with P4 processors ranging from 2.4 to 3.8 and video cards from both Nvidia and ATI. It isn't just the Railgun. The Sniper rifle has the same problem when zoomed. It never happens in single player for me. I start a dedicated server and then join the game in a second session of UT'04. It is definately a scope issue and probably only client side of the server. You will have to start a server and have someone join to see the effect. I can't give you a predictable situation to try it in. It doesn't seem to be map specific or anything like that. Hope this helps. |

They know it's a bug , but, can't seem to duplicate it. Try the Railgun from the tower in Phobos. It seems to happen more from high places. |

We've tried the railgun from the tower in phobos2 on a net client, on dedicateds, etc... We've tried shooting in all directions and in the current version, this bug is just not apparent... |

I think the ones that experience the bug need to give a very detailed guide on how to replace the bug. |

And anyone who has a problem with Windows should fix that themselves too?? I'm not claiming to be a coder. I'm just saying the problem was there. Whenever I asked, they said they couldn't duplicate it. I gave the best description I could to help them find it. |

This brings up the question if this might not be a problem within Ballistic, at least not directly. Maybe it depends on type of connection or ping or something. |

I use Road Runner. 5000down/384up Pings are generaly 30 or less. I don't see how the connection could affect only a scoped weapon when zoomed. I just hope it's gone in 1.7 |

It is complex to explain, but often packet loss can cause the weirdest in-game occurenses. |

My idea is that it's because the shot fires after the recoil animation. Then the shot goes way up from where it's supposed to be. It's probably on higher ping clients... I get this a LOT on my server, about 40% of the time while using sniper or railgun. Please come try it if you can't seem to replicate it. And also, can you guys PLEASE make a list of servers that run ballistic? We play ballistic CTF, ONS, Jailbreak, TAM, you name it...and it would really be MORE FUN if we could get MORE PLAYERS because no one goes and unchecks "standard servers" and then sits through a 40 MB download. Our server is on ballistic 85% of the time (mutators are voteable) and I'd really like to see some more people in it, keep it alive. Post edited by: heheman3000, at: 2006/04/26 06:25 |

v1.7 seems to have cured the high rail shot bug.. and as for servers.. if anyone finds a server, or knows of one.. i think i will make a new topic, and people can post the servers names in there.. we cannot be online much, so we wont be able to play on servers, let alone find them:( |
