I was thinking a wooden stock on it would look realy nice, kinda make it look like a classic.

should be a simple texture swap if the stock is the right kind

I realy like the look of wooden stocks on guns, im not to big of a fan of plastics and stuff, and if you look at it from a technical view point, its easy to use, find and its cheap.

You are probably one of the few who do, I think it looks lame. At least paint the wood with darker colors.

Wooden stocks look nice, and there are plenty who think so, Bjossi...

But, I personally like plastic stocks for most (not all) guns myself, although a break open shotgun almost has to have a wooden stock in my opinion. 8)

If wooden is more effective to use than plastic, then by all means do that. But if you can, get rid of the lame color that wood usually has, I love black or grey on guns myself.

That kinda eliminates the point, Bjossi... !mistrust

So they point is to make your foes die from laughter instead of bullets? Guns look lame when colored in happy-brown colors, plus I can't see else than the theme of BW is dark or reflective colors...

Ugh... you are stubborn, aren't you?

Trust me, you wouldn't laugh if you had a good ol' double barrel in your face, regardless of whether the stock is wood or synth. ;) (no, that is not a threat or anything)

wood is still used to make quite a few military weapons, the ak-47, the sks, the m14 and more, plus you can buy wooden stocks for guns like the FAL, and other guns with synthetic stocks.

Personaly I think wooden stocks make guns look alot more hansome than sythetic, it just looks better in my opinion.

What do you mean by that? I was talking about the color, not the material. Is it very hard to paint wood black or grey?

Post subject:  Idea for the m763

I was talking about color too, as not many people paint their wood stocks and therefore I was referring to regular wood grain appearance...

It wouldn't be hard to paint the stock, but their aren't a lot of people who do that, as far as I know.

How about make it customizable, since I like the current stock, but Gnome likes wood, and so on. That would solve a lot of problems, right? Well, except the coding problem, which shouldn't be that hard. Just make a new section of the BW menu... I code a little, but I would rather think it should be easy in comparison to the rest of the mod.

It'd go nice with a custom hand skins option, too. ;)

Custom stock would sound good for one of the INI file options that don't make an appearance in the GUI. :P

Plastic-coated wood ftw!

Perhabs a visual aid would help..

Just a little something i slapped togeather in a couple of minutes, it would obviously look better with a custom made spec-mask.

Dark wood stock and pump, and darkened metal for the "classic" look, i woulden't say that looks "happy" ;)

Ooo. . .I might even like that better than the new skin they put on it. Which, of course, you all haven't seen yet, and I'm not allowed to tell you about.

I like the BW2.0 skin better myself.

It could always be mutated, you know, a simple "if this texture is found, use this texture instead" sort of deal, if someone's interested in coding such a thing (i have no experiance with that render overlay canvas stuff.. makes my head spin), i dont mind supplying the texture work.. though obviously, i'll want to work from the new and improved 2.0 textures, so it woulden't be until 2.0 lands ;)

The new 2.0 skin makes the shotgun look pretty badass, but that wood skin looks pretty cool too. Well, there's always room for another model...

Good job on the skinning Grobut (odd name choice). But as Bjossi said, the new texture for it is way cooler + when your killing so many enemies, the blood has to wash off %-6

Well, like so many others, i have yet to see the new skin !sad

The above skin was just a "proof of concept", to show what it might look like with a wooden stock, its by no means a finished skin, its just a visual aid for the debate.

As for the name being odd.. well its sorta an inside joke amongst Danes, its from an old Danish beer comercial ;)

Trust me, its not, i litteraly slapped that thing togeather within 5 minutes, i both could and would do a better job if that skin was ever to appear ingame (and i would base it on the 2.0 skin), that skin has no detail work done on it at all ;)

I just wanted to show that a wooden stock would not make it look like sunshine and lollipops, but actually quite mean with the right colour choices.
