This is a thread to not professionally review and score BW2, but to state whatcha liked and didn't like about it

That being said...let me be the first non-beta tester to say:

Bravo. Bra-****ing-vo.

It's absolutely amazing. The retexturing, the awesome blood and shaking effects. Even the slightly different animations. They're all smooth and lovely. More than anything, I loved the new sounds. I had to change pants when I heard the new pistol and shotgun sounds, as well as the M50. LOVELY.

I'm a fan of "the little things". The types of tweaks that don't make a mutator a new one, but spice it up ever so lovingly and make it better. The things like kicking grenades away, how the screen shakes from nearby explosions, and even blood spurts when a round pierces you, are all amazing. I WINCED when someone blasted me with an M763. My screen burst red, and I saw my character's headless corpse fly a couple of feet in one direction, motion blurs and all, before seeing the wrecked cavity where his head used to be.

The new weapons...can't not love 'em. So many are devestating. I couldn't help but giggle when I reloaded the AM67, and the little rings on it jiggled. The flamethrower and the rocket launcher are quite easily the Super Weapons, the only hole in the UT2k4 arsenal. I was quite surprised at the new machine pistol, too.

Other than a couple of small gripes, which aren't worth detracting from the game just yet, just needing a couple of questions answered [which they will be in Support, hopefully], this was THE MOST PERFECT improvement to BW that I could fathom.

Be proud, anyone who participated.

Including me, who inspired the most useless feature: The Cocking Button.

It s so much fun from the moment i got it I cound stop laughing when every time i fried my enemy who came around the corner unaware of the flamethrower in my hands .And that new gore its so nicely done ,as wel as the sounds and the new guns you just have to love it.

Thanks Devs, well done and well worth the waiting. Two big thanks, one is no more gibbing on rifle shots, and no more basket ball gibs, the gibs are awesome. I'd say , not knowing all that would be involved, but I'd think you guys could make your own total game. Bravo.

And with this shot of pure adrenalin I would say at least for now, and that will be a long now for myself, who cares about UT3 or what ever they are calling it.

10/10 indeed. Awesome fun! Ok, there are a few bugs, like that annoying AM-67-bug that breaks mousewheel-weapon-scrolling, or some dual-wielding glitches, but those are minor issues. All in all, BW is more fun than ever, congratulations SB and DC, great work!

Long Live The 'Storm!!!

The whole thing is pure ORGASM.

I think I like every single aspect of it, but I did turn off the
blood-on-your-screen effect though.

The new gore effects are so juicy, and the new kill messages
just make me laugh more and more, the new weapons are
awesome, and very creative. And the changes to existing ones
are sweet. Now to read about the dual wielding, since I was too
exited that I forgot to read the manual. This is probably the
most awesome mod for UT2k4 ever made. It also amazed me
that the amount of all those effects didnt make the game lag
much at all even on my low performance PC. Ultimately great work guys.

I'd give it a solid 9/10, only reason it gets a 9 is minor bugs, bugs that i think we'll see fixed very soon, and then it'll be a 10 for sure!

Obviously i like the whole graphical facelift, the new skins, the sounds, the new anims, the new weapons too! especially the AM67 which is now my favorite weapon!
But what really leaps out at me now is the atmosphere, its gotten much more intense and involving, and for many reasons, the beefier sounds, bullet flyby sounds, the disorientation when you get hit, or getting a face full of blood, it all adds up to gameplay that now feels much more involving, like you are really there, 1.x had some of it, but now its there in spades! a big thumbs up from here!
And needless to say, i LOVE the loadout mutator now, great work there!

Dislikes:
AM67 scroll bug.
Reducing "drunken view" does not seem to work on some weapons, like the D49 and XK2, they are all over the place no matter what you set thouse sliders to, be it a bug or a feature, im not liking it.

10/10 I love the new G5 Explosion sound its perfect. Also the Minigun is purely awesome I sat in Joust and just held the trigger in and mowed everybody down. Great job guys keep up the good work

Recept for Burned Alien:

First find a alien, a Skrajj taste extra crispy, and the other aliens like a Skrith tastes juicey.
When you have finded a alien, use your flamer to
oil the alien (the olive-oil taste delicious)
When you have oiled the alien, just frie with flamer.
Then it´s finished! The whole family will enjoy this.*


* We don´t take any responsible if the alien is poisoned....

Well done, guys! Easily the best release yet. I initially thought you screwed up the G5 with the new features, but once I hit the special weapons function and watched my rocket drop straight on a guys head after locking onto him, I cheered. I'll bet I pissed off the people living above me! Weapon models look great! The weapon sounds are better! Just about everything is better. I haven't encountered very many of the bugs other people are reporting...maybe my computer is just that awesome! The new weapons totally rock, and the new gore effects are sublime, the only complaint I have would be the swapping menu: if the loadout menu was used for the swapping menu with all the weapons categorized, that would make it much easier to select weapons. Other than that, 10/10 gentlemen...good work.

Btw, about the weapon selection menu when you hit a number key:

Make it so that you could point and click at the weapon you want with your mouse primary fire button.
Much easier that way imo.

I like the assault pistol the most. Dual-wielding two of those on full-auto is awesome and the flash makes it a true close-range beast!

Btw, was it inspired by UT's Enforcers?

One word. AMAZING!

I suppose I could give it a 9/10 'cause of the bugs... But when compared to the competition (Every other UT04 mod out there), it's hard to make much of a comparison, since this is clearly heads & shoulders above them all. With that in mind, I find it hard to give it any less than a 10/10. Excellent job, guys; hope your talents go on to make some legendary shooter on par with stuff like Unreal & Half Life.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, but when I dual-wield skrith sidearm and something else, the former doesn't work well. Other than that, I didn't see anything wrong.

I also noticed that junk war weapons have been added. Is it possible to use riot shields as well in BW gametypes?

BW is the best ut2004 mod available ATM, all the other mods have updates that take a friggen year then the mod dies. the only other mod i look forward to is Out of Hell( http://www.outofhell.net damn the new release is lookin good so far).

the RS team is great they take all the good features a FPS should have then cram them all into one little package. well 2.0 is amazing and i cant wait to see what comes next.

Graphics are mostly calculated by the processor in the UEngine 2.

Doesn't mean that the graphics card doesn't count; UT04 is certainly more processor intensive than most games, but if the video card isn't up to speed, the processor certainly isn't gonna save the day...

That may depend on what graphics settings you use, like high resolutions or AA, but if you'd avoid using those, the processor would save the day for sure.

A bigass bonus pack. Or maybe a bunch of smaller ones, we'll see...
