Post subject:  M50, show grenade "clip" in HUD anyone?

I think there should be a little number showing "how many" grenades you have in the grenade launcher just like a clip. I find it annoying to guess if you still have a grenade there, or if you cancelled the reaload animation when you're in the battle. Anyone agree?

There is only ever one grenade in the launcher at a time. Shouldnt the clicking of an unloaded weapon being triggered be enough indication towards "how many" is in there?

Since the reloading takes place automaticaly it is safe to assume the grenade launcher is loaded if you have had the assault rifle out for more than 5 seconds and you do have ammo.

Reloading the grenade launcher can be interrupted by firing your gun, sprinting, or walking into a wall it seems, which happens quite often in heated firefights. This can leave your grenade launcher empty without you knowing it.

Of course, you can always push the reload button. It reloads the grenade launcher if it's empty and the assault rifle magazine is full.

Reloading the grenade launcher is still rather wonky in 2.0. Often times the reload animation goes wrong somehow. I don't use the M50 much so if anyone else out there knows how reload gets bugged, do tell.

You might be hitting the reload key over an over. Everytime you do that, it restarts the animation. I actually use this bug to reload faster. As soon as I fire a grenade, it will take a sec before they actually start reloading. If you hit the r key, you'll reload much quicker (if your clip is full).

I think I know part of the reason why the animation and reloading might be kinda temperamental.

Try this:When you got a grenade in it's chamber, hold alt fire in and don't release. See what happens? Your firing stance changes with you left hand changing position.

So far I have found no actual use for this, though my usage of the M50 is rather low. It's a nice little bit o' eye candy, but it seems like it could be the cause to some of the problems.

The firing stance changes because your left hand can't fire the grenade launcher while it's holding the launcher as a foregrip. It has to move back so it can pull the trigger.

The problem is that clicking alt-fire while it hasn't completely finished reloading causes it to misfire. You see the recoil and hear the popping sound, but no grenade. Then the reload animation has to start all over again.

This problem actually exists in all weapons it seems, and is very , very annoying. If you click just before you finish pumping a shotgun, it goes off with sounds, recoil, and muzzle flashes and everything, but no pellets fly and your ammo count is not depleted. It's even worse with the Battle Rifle, where I've many times thought I was unloading on a guy, but I had actually started holding down the trigger slightly before the reload or cocking animation completes, so the weapon appears to be firing, with muzzle flash, recoil, and sounds, but no bullets. Lost me quite a few engagements.

Hmm... this sounds like an Online bug to me, as I don't recall that ever happening. Sounds odd.

The grenade launcher and odd misfire bugs are indeed client bugs. I just tried it in instant action and could not replicate the bug, although clicking the alt-fire does interrupt the reload, which is annoying and shouldn't happen.

I'll put this in the bug report thread.
