Hello Mac and Linux guys.. got something for you to test..

go into the console, (by pressing "~" key) and type in; "showdebug" keep an eye on the Ballisti area in there.. if u can, send us a shot of it when the screen flips out:) or tell us what it is saying.. we may have an idea whats causing itB)

Later

Post subject:  Mac and Linux stuff

the 640*800 i think.......... (to reduce lag on my shit mac).

but thats not why it looks fuzzy. i exported it to .jpg on low quality, the lower the quality the smaller the files size.

Post subject:  Mac and Linux stuff

I did that very thing last week and put the results in Cannon Goose's thread.

Here's another. I didn't know my view could be rotated that way!

Here's another, the most extreme chaos value I have a screen of. Note the 1337. B)

I tried firing while it goes nuts so you can see what happens.

This is just a moment after, when chaos returns to normal.

I'm going to take a nap, I'll see your making fun of me later. Oh, yeah- note that there's no inner crosshair-coloured screen flash when I don't use a crosshair.
I found that my weapon chaos shows between 0 and -400000.00 when the gun goes nuts. I don't know if you already knew that, but if not... maybe a simple patch can prevent chaos from ever leaving the 0 to 1.00 range?

It was flashing so fast I couldn't see the decimal moving but in slomo. I'll try to find a way to save the data so I can show them to youse and keep screwing with it to see if I can find anything else.[/quote]

Do the OS interfere with the game engines in any way?

Game engines yes.. but i dont know y it qould screw up our code:blink: could be a number of things, how a certain bit of engine code used in the chaos system is handled differently.. we'll try taking a look soon.. our workload is getting much bigger..

the bigger they are the badder they fall ? is badder even a word?

Bad - Worse - Worst = Correct
Bad - Badder - Baddest = Incorrect.

But back to the topic, are you guys getting close to find the solution or is it a hopeless thing like I unfortunately suspect? :(

Until you get bored of it in the new PC as well. :P
I'm waiting for the new release, the Magnum and poison grenade look so good that I go to tears. B)

Well, the bug seems to be chaos going crazy. Normally its supposed to be clamped between 0 and 1, but on wierd platforms it seems to go below 0, way below, down to -4000000. At that extend, the crosshair would scale up big enough to fill your screen nd chaos combined with view aim or "drunk walk" makes the screen flip out.

Post subject:  Mac and Linux stuff

So to avoid this, Mac/Linux users have to sacrifice that setting?

Author:  James [ Mon May 29, 2006 8:56 am ]
Post subject:  Mac and Linux stuff

nope, already tried that.

i turned all of the drunk and aim and recoile stuff off but i still got the screen flips........

I mean taking the setting out of the BCore, I believe that is neccesary to turn it off for good. !grr

Do you remember v1.61??? Didn't that drunkwalk option back then fix it??? If that is true, I may have an idea of how to help cure it...
