Ok we all know that the RS team prefers to conduct betas in a privet and rather sneaky manner and imposes a rather strict gag rule on all it’s beta testers, we also know that the RS team likes to surprise us with new material at every opportunity. So here it is a chance for the beta testers to pull them selves away from triple digit killing sprees, say what they can, and maybe even drop one or two tormenting hints about what the RS team has been working so hard on.

This is the only hint that they need to know:

It's gonna be fun.

Oh and isn't this against the rules for each beta tester? Woops .

This isn't breaking any rules as long as you keep the hints reasonable.


And let me reveal another hint: It's gonna be more fun than stated above.

So much fun in fact, we haven't a clue how much fun we'll end up with!

But have it your way, never let it be said that the loyalty of the RS team’s beta testers is in the wrong place. For there loyalty is first to the RS team then to the community and for that they must be respected.

Dark, this is called hype. Hype sells, no matter how bad the product is. Take Doom 3 for an example.

They were pretty fun to kill. Hunting someone down has never been so fun (or tricky! damn BX-5s).... or as tormenting to you since some friggin' bot gets stuck on a ladder (blame stupid bots for that though, or bot pathing!) and you never find them where thy bots hide from the wrath that is known as you and your team's awesomeness....

Maybe I should play aginst more bots.... 4 on 4 is not enough for me!

I hope that won't leak all the new features? Too much fun to release to the public!

Doom 3 even did the mindless shooter genre badly, let alone the "survival horror" thing it was trying to achieve.

Well, I must admit the loyality of the beta testers has always been excellent, which makes a big part of these releases fun for everyone it also lets us trust our beta testers and thus keep giving these pre-release beta's, because we know the release will have the impact we want and not spoilt by some one


Well, just for everyone's info, 2.1 is mainly meant to be a minor update with bug fixes etc. but there are (as always) some nice things in there!

There is also a (new) feature or two that is getting some good feedback from the beat testers

We have some more very exciting plans for after this release....and that's all you're going to hear...
We're sure we can keep delivering good stuff to keep our fans happy (and collect more fans)...

It's not quite ready yet. Some ideas need refining and some bugs need to be fixed and some tweaks need to be made. But when it's done, it will be quite good.

BW is just simply the best FPS experience ive ever had.

It'd be great if they'd release it as both, but I suppose making a new full 2.1 install would use more of their bandwidth because people (like me) would download the 2.1 full when they only need the patch. Full installs are nice though.

It wouldn't use more of the bandwidth if they replaced the old main file. But it will take fekkloads of time uploading both a patch and a full 2.1 version. So I think they'll just release a patch, anything else would be showcasing lack of common sense.
