I had this idea the other day. I'm a member of the Something Awful forums, which (if you don't already know) is a huge online community where a bunch of nerds get together and talk about... stuff. A lot of stuff gets talked about, but it has a games forum, which gave me this idea. Because there are so many people that view it, a good, well written thread there about Ballistic Weapons could draw a lot of attention. I'm not saying Runestorm would get 100 new fans overnight or anything, but perhaps we could generate a little more interest. So what I'm going to do is write a little article about BW, with some basic information, an FAQ and a few screenshots and the like. Since the 2.1 patch has just been released, this seems like a good time to do it.
Here's where you come in:
My computer is pretty old, and I don't have much experience with taking decent pics or videos in games. A lot of goons won't read my post, but they will take the time to look at the pretty pics and maybe watch any gameplay videos I post. I think lots of people dismiss the UT2004 engine as too old, without realizing how good BW can look with all the settings turned up. A few really nice screenshots should set this misconception straight
So if you've got a good computer and a few minutes of spare time, turn your graphics settings all the way up, take some screenshots and post the very best ones in this thread. If you want to make a short gameplay video and post it on youtube, even better! In a week or so, I'll grab the best ones and put them in my thread. If you want to, you can also write a little piece on BW and I might make use of it.
