I got the unreal anthology - german version!!! and i don't see any blood in BW.
I tried the bloody hell mutator and all boxes are checked under blood but still i don't see any.
Is there a way to get the blood shown in my case? (german version of ut2004)

Is blood and gore enabled in the main UT2004 settings?

No in the german version there is no way to enable it :(
BUT:
I found out how everyone can easily enable the option of setting of gore in ut2004 having purchased the unreal anthology (german version)
Find the UT2004.ini in the system folder look for language. Default Language=det just change it to Language=int and gore can be set and the game language is english.

p.s. english sounds much better imho even though i am native german speaking.
btw: i am very new to BW so: do i need the RSMapPack1 to play on servers? I already downloaded it but am not sure if there will be any conflict with BW 2.1 as this mappack is rather old...

It wouldn't cause any conflicts at all, don't worry.
But yes, by all means install it, I bet many servers got at least one of these maps in the list.
