ok now that i know it's working........ Do you all have a stripped down version of the ballistic mod that doesnt have the mutators or any weapons added? i would like to base my weapons for my C&C mod off of the weapons system your team has created. I like all the weapons that you all have made but i cant use them without some modification to the texture sizes to help keep everybody out there with minimum spec systems happy. any help at all would be appreciated
And of course all credit for the infantry weapons system would belong to your team

You could decompile their U files and use the UC file as a reference, but you´d need RuneStorm´s permission to release that to public. |

Well, we are intending to refine the base systems of our mod into an independant package for use by modders for their own mods and TCs or whatever. You have probably already decompiled the U files to check things out, but we can give you the latest code that has not had to be extracted from the U files... Of course you WILL DEFINITELY need permission and we will have to get lots of credit anything you use in your mod. If you want the textures and the code and are basically adding our weapons to your mod, we could allow that too, but we'll have to discuss it some more... We are happy to help and are glad to have people use some of our stuff as long as we are given propper credit. |

I will have to check, but AFAIK, the license for the code will allow the code to be re-distributed with the nessacary copyrights added, credits to the orginal coders etc. etc. It is after all modified UT code?? BUT I do know the guys have got a lot of their own code in there as well, as long as copyrights and credits are adhered to, there shouldn't be a problem. As for the textures and models...I will leave that up to the runestorm team, as I know all of it is their own work. You would be amazed at how they made some of those textures and sounds
As runestorm said, they will be releasing some of it for mod'ers to base other work on at some stage. I suggest to wait a little for the guys to stablize the code and let them figure out what's going in the TC and what's going to get released for mod'ers. |

nah...i wouldnt be amazed.....i have the tools to do it and know how to also
I'm just moving my experience over to a new engine and learning the environment. The model production and sound engineering is no problemb......my little brother has a verry nice production studio where i can do my sounds at if i required it but i can do most of it with audacity(freeware) and the windows recorder. The hardest part for me to learn is gonna be the scripting.....i have no c++ experience and when i was in school they were still teaching structured programming....not OOP. I'm sure you see my dillemma......but i'm not totally ignorant....i will catch on....probably about the time that ut2007 hits the shelves ry:

everyone wants a piece of Ballistic:) we will be doing a lot more refining in future versions, especially for our, uhh, "bigger" projects;) i intend to redo some anims as well.. |
