Post subject:  no Ballistic vehicles section in ini

Hey all. i was trying to install the new thor tank but i can't find [BallisticVehicles.Mut_BWVehicles] section of UT2004.ini

anyone know how to help?

You guys want help or Not? Makes me no never mind If you can get your groove on with bots in instant action. I was merely trying to give you a tool to swap vehicles. But hey, i could give 2 shits less I have better things to do than help you. Have fun and learn how to read the manual.


Also I dont see any remotely "popular" about these threads just answering questions that have been asked OVER and OVER.

were do I add that section in which file? you probably have made it clear but I just don't quite get it and I can't get it to work...

I think it's UT2004.ini, the location doesn't really matter. It is a good idea to always add new sections at the very bottom, though.

Grrr... Put the section and the line in UT2004.ini, and nothing. Also tried it in BW2.1.ini. Any thoughts? Rotofactory won't show up even though it was installed properly, so that's not an option

RotoFactory isnt showing up under the Mutators?

If Rotation factory doesn't work you could also use worm 2k4. it has a mutator for swapping weapons and vehicles and a bunch of other stuff.

The thing that puzzles me is that it should work no matter what, as long as one installs it properly. I see a Rotating Factory in my mutator list.

Are you absolutely sure you did a 'proper' install of the mutator, Treadhead?

Yes. The files for Roto Factory, Ini and all, went into my system folder. That's what I recalled reading as the install point. Could be wrong, and judging by my luck, that's likely. And yes, I checked for Rotating Factory. By the other mutator with R, assuming it is in alphabetical order as normal, there is no Rotating Factory. I've checked throughout the list, but I'll look again.

Edit: I've heard of Worm 2K4, Cliff. I'll try and find it and hope it works !sad

Personally,I feel roto is better overall,BUT if on the other hand,your using something like vehiclestuff(like me)WorM is better for tweakers(like me :p ).

By the way,has anyone used vehicle stuff to increase speed and change the main gun to a machinegun on the Thor?If not,try it yourself :D .

I have never gotten VehicleStuff to work properly. Whatever weapon replacements I apply, the vehicle refuses to fire it at all. :?

Odd,I just slap the files in the appropriate slots and it never fails me.
Check the files and ensure everything is in place,if they are,make sure that if your using a custom weapon in a slot you edit the guns projectiles to your specifications,setting projectile type and refire rate.
Also make sure you use a vehicle that actually starts out shooting :p .It won't work otherwise.

EDIT:Now that I think of it,there are only 2 system files and a text,so that's easy,hmmm.
What mods do you use?(vehicle related)

I use all Custom Vehicles (Rumple Makes 90%) Of them here are a few High lites:

MonsterTruck AKA Superbeast

Custom Version Of the Batman Tumbler

Mirage Vehicles 1 And 2

PPC Tank

The Shithouse (Fires Poo from the back)

Also Run all the Runestorm Hicles.

Makes for some good ole fashion VCTF.

Try configuring it with a gun from base UT and see what happens,some guns just Don't work.Also,youd better not be in playersonly. :p

I see no reason why such a generic fire mode wouldn't work. Then again, WMS (the author of VehicleStuff) vanished before it even passed beta status.

If I were you, Bjossi, I'd just go with the Exion Rapter in place of the regular. Those vehicles mix in pretty well with the missing BW ones.

Shadowdump, I'm patched to 3369 and using ECE 1.1.

And Sgt. Kelly, it's more fun being able to configure a vehicle to fit my style rather than choosing another hardcoded alternative.

This is like random vs. one-time-change: If you change something (like switching to that Exion Raptor) it'll just be fresh one time, but if something is random/fully configurable, it can be fresh infinite/many times. So getting a functional VehicleStuff would give me the ability to do so much with just one vehicle.
