How do you get the bonuses exactly? Throughout the BWBP4 thread people are hinting at it ("collect souls", "demon mode") but can somebody just tell me how to make them work. Do you just press special after you are close to somebody with the other staff? What is the soul thing?? |

The souls are the floting heads you see after killing someone with a staff. Orange goes to the Dark Star, blue goes to the Nova. After filling the bar to the point it is flashing, hit Weapon Special. It will give super-powers, different for either staff, and two super attacks. |

See the charge bar at the corner? When that's full, you can activate the special. You fill it up by picking up souls, which appear after you kill a guy. Also guys, the staves are definite superweapon material. They definitely should not count as standard weapons. |

and getting a bigger gun if you don't get a bigger gun, get a vehicle. If you don't have both try aiming for the head, but any way collect soul to get the charge up but be warned in multiplayer players will always be guning for the guy that has a staff and make sure he or she doesn't charge up. |

There are no vehicles in Deathmatch. Plus, the Nova has a LIGHTNING GUN built in! |

to balance it with the lightning gun, the novas lightning mode is weaker and can only hold on one poor Loser on the lightning bolt. |

Dark Star: Uses Demonized Souls To gain energy attacks When "Demon" mode is activated, You Gain Speed and jumping boosts. Immolate is when you look at someone and they burst in searing flames. Firebomb is a flaming mortar attack that deals insane amounts of damage. Nova Staff: Uses Angelized souls to gain energy attacks. When "Angel" Mode is activated, you gain the power of flight. God Strike is a Instagib lightning Attack, Chain lightning strikes multiple foes at once. |

That flying is incredibly hard to control when you DON'T want to fly, and you only want to get access to the other two powers... |

I find the flying hard to control even when I do want to fly. |

I wish I could disable that, personally. I'd make the "Angel Mode" where you take half damage or something. It was a really great idea, but in practice it's just hard to get a grip on. Besides that fact, it totally screws up your aiming since your view is always jerking around cause you're flying. |

Here's a suggestion... PRACTICE!!! Besides I think the bob balances the insta-gib lightning nicely. |

The manual mentions you should be wary fighting someone with the opposing staff. Can someone tell me why? =| |

Lightning + Plasma = Black Hole Lightning/Plasma + Slow Shot = Insta Death Ball. |

Basically the lightning/plasma modes act as a shield to the opposing staff's attacks. Slow bolts transform into homing death balls. Fast bolts disintegrate. opposing lightning/plasma creates the aforementioned black hole. Thus it is usually a good idea to keep the shield mode active when you know there is a enemy with the opposing staff around. Now I do not know what the effects are specifically against the super attacks, except for the chained lightning, which acts much like normal lightning. |
