Sorry for the corny caption.

I have found a sure fire way of killing tanks without having to be a camping loon as well as infuriate people in general.
Spread some FP9s around a area and stick a normal mine in the spot you want the bombs to trigger from in hopper mode(usually the center).
And there you have it a very powerful death trap that can kill almost anything(if not anything).

Pros:
If placed well is almost invisible, ensuring n00b eradication.
No laser means it is much less likely to be shot out.
Very powerful,no one could possibly survive if they trip it.

Cons:
Might be picked up or shot if seen,to possibly protect from pickup place 2 mines.
Uses a large amount of bombs that could be placed somewhere else.
Somewhat time consuming though not horrible if your prepared and use discipline(don't place 80!).
Ok someone might be able to survive due to the delay in the explosion,if placed well the mine could be used in normal mode negating this disadvantage(this might also be necessary for tanks in order for all the bombs to detonate). It is also possible to lay the bombs in a chain to cover more area, lessening the traps anti-tank role.

feel free to use this thread to post your favorite traps-n-tricks,I'd love to hear them.
Also pics are encouraged.

Placing mines under pickups.
Although really bm in my opinion, it works awesome. People just don't check pickups for mines.

I tried this one a few minutes ago in Serenissma - Block a stairwell/hallway with a mountable weapon , preferably something big. Bots have serious trouble getting past them in crowded hallways - He kept jumping up and down, trying to reach me with his melee weapon, but he just couldn't get past it.

I'll post pics when I have more time.

Yea, this is a really bastardly thing to do, especially in DM.

This is somewhat counter to the point of the thread, but let me recount about the dumbest use of mines I have ever seen. I've probably posted this here before, but it's worth a retelling.

Basically, I'm in my server in DM-DC-Beach, and there's these 3 guys from some clan in there with me (UBR or something), and I'm completely destroying them. I'm walking along, looking for someone to kill, when I see something like 5 mines littering the path in front of me, right behind that big cannon thing. I draw my pistol to clear the poorly-placed obstruction, As I align the laser dot with to one of the mines, I see one of the guy's name show up at my reticle. Looking more closely, I discovered that the idiot had activated the Invisible combo and was just sitting there in his minefield waiting for me.

Pulling the trigger was oh so satisfying. Body parts everywhere!

Oooh, a tactic... I never really thought of putting mines even if I know it works quite well against vehicles.
I rather use them in CTF (I don't play much VCTF)... I'll try this.

A GP5 or Railgun in the head of a vehicle is enough to kill it !lol
Even with other weapons, the vehicles seems quite fragile to me.

Got another one! :D

Place a mountable weapon in a suitable location, then nearby place a hopper mine(preferably somewhere dark).
When someone sees the gun they won't be able to resist the temptation to pick it up(unless in combat),when they grab the gun... you don't need to think hard after that. ;)

Booby-trap enemy vehicles with an FP9 bomb. Stick it somewhere it won't be easily seen. Detonate it if you ever see the number move.

Additionally, if you're lazy, put it in laser mode and use the weaponmode command to point the laser on the ground.

Put a fp9 bomb with laser clearly seen in the middle of the hallway. But then place a few bombs in dark spots on the wall, leading towards the corner.

You shoot the fp9 bomb in the middle, and you get a chainreaction of bombs coming at you XD

I once had it so, that my friend over lan shot under the flag base (where I always place a hopper mine) and then walked 3 feet forward, to be hit by a hopper mine against the wall, which was triggered by the first.

I have the counter to Kaboodles and use it a fair amount.
1. Plce trip mine in obvious location with det packs around it.
2.seed approach path with a few well placed hidden det packs just in the range of the visable mines in a chain up the path.

3. player runs up, backs up and shoot the visable mine and gets caught in the chain.

Also never forget the place it right on the structure corner. Gets em every time. !grr

The thing with the devious multi-FP9 traps is that you're using a hell of a lot of explosives for a trap that will more than likely only kill one person. Plus, it takes a fairly long time to set up those traps, time that may be better spent killing people the old-fashioned way. You also run the risk of being discovered, putting you right in the middle of the trap you spent so long to set up.

In small DM maps, you're probably better off just planting mines in as many locations as possible, just as long as you remember where you put them. You'll force enemies to be overly cautious about where they go or make them avoid going to certain areas, giving you the advantage.

Also, I don't usually shoot FP9s or lone BX5s. Since few people ever sit and watch their mines, I usually just walk over, pick them up, and plant them elsewhere.

yes and if you're good then those traps can become lethal for groups too.

Go to a small room, where the super shield is at or something attractive. Place FP9 bombs on all walls in dark spots and such. Place a camera from the M50 up high somewhere.

Sit somewhere safe, look at your camera while popping heads with the M50 from a further reach and blow up the whole when people are fighting in there.

Played a little online today, and some guy was placing FP9 -in laser mode - bombs all over the friggin place.

This brings me to 2 new points:
1 - Don't block your only way out. He did that. Easy sniping cus he had to crawl through the hallway to escape.
2 - Don't forget where your bombs are xD

It's also very satisfying to see an opponent + 5 bombs blow up when you toss a grenade between the bunch.

Woooh ! Very nice !lol
I like that idea, first time I understand another use for the M50 camera 8)

Usually I play with mines and I put them where poeple oftenly go like the armor 100, when the armor respawn, the mine becomes nearly invisible.

Well, it works with other items / weapons as well, always sneaky !
