I Install UT2004 and it works, the CD key is correct. All is fine, then I try to update the game so that I can play BW and a mesage comes up when I try to play "Your CD key appears to be invalid. You will need to reinstall the game and enter your CD key to fix this problem." I know that this isn't actually a BW problem but I thought that someone would here would know why this is doing this. Install the game, start it up and do a quick insta-action match, quit off, install the patches int he correct order, and THEN put on Ballistic Weapons. That should hopefully do the trick. The ECE Bonus patch will allow the game to be disk-free as well. |

I've had this happen before. You may be able to avoid reintalling the game by installing the latest patch (3369). If that doesn't work, then reinstalling the game should not affect your mods or custom maps you ahve installed. However, you will ahve to set your video/sound/character/controls settings again. You may want to copy "user.ini", which is found in UT2004/System, reinstall the game, then move that user.ini back into the systems folder (after backing up the new one). That should preserve all your settings. Also, if you reinstall, save all your "ServerPackages=..." lines for your custom mods if you plan on ever hosting a multiplayer game. |

I always keep a backup ut2004/user.ini file on my ipod so i can dodge that crap, well, thats how it works for me... |

Thanks guys, the CD Key message does'nt flash up anymore. and it seems to run faster (don't ask me how). Raziel P.S I now have another problem with the weapons, they will not appear (please see other post) |
