First, my english isn´t good, so excuse if it is horribly to read. I´m still in school.

This mod has brought more fun to me than many commercial games, i played Unreal with BW longer than Crysis, and it was for free. So i decided to make this thread. BW had brought UT back to life for me, without BW i think the last time i played this game would be some years ago.
Ballistic Weapon was the best mod i´ve ever played, even better than the most full conversions. It changed the Gameplay of UT 2004 and created nearly something like an new game. Almost everything on this mod now seems to be perfectly elaborated.
So I wan´t to say thanks to Runestorm.

But I don´t think this is the end. So keep up the good work and win the contest, maybe we played someone a comercial game in a universe called Archon.
I will wait for this day.

I totaly agree, this mod had restored my faith in mods and has brought me back to UT2004

Its turned UT2004 into almost the perfect game, its got everything i could want, the only thing they could do, is add more guns. i cannot think of any other improvements, its got tactical play, fun melee, duel-weilding, ironsights

Its a cross between CAll of duty 4 and Halo 3 :)

And a very good one at that :)

Thanks for the comments. I know the devs appreciate it.

Whilst RS work has official stopped on BW: UT2k4, once the new community site is up (read front page news), BW work will continue, just by the BW fans out there, with some help/tips/advice etc. from the devs.

That is wonderful, considering BW isn't even close to the finish line.

we hope to get to Archon one day :) For now, we'll be working on something else.. we've got to think carefully about what we can / need to do :)

I'm not really expecting a straight answer here, but what about a BW port to UT3? Is that still being considered? I noticed your post specifically said BW:UT2K4...

In any case, thanks a lot guys!

Not at the moment. If they do port it won't be a straight forward port.
The devs are more in to making new exciting things, rather than re-inventing the wheel...

There's a few new exciting things ahead of us...

That is a simplification. Look at BW:UT2 as a boxy wheel, and BW:UT3 takes the idea to the next step; a round wheel.

In other words, using the same idea and take it further with new technology is not quite the same as "re-inventing".

Exactly. BW is a classic mod that deserves an upgrade. Sure it would be cool to add some new weapons and features, but that doesn't mean we should dump the (perfectly good) old ones.

Well, thank you Runestorm, for showing me what a mod really should be. You guys outdo yourselves all the time.

This new weapon release is freaking awesome! The details are so incredible that I dare to say are even better than the stock UT3 weapons. Can't wait to try out future releases. The shotgun pic looks great.

I'd really like to thank everyone working on BW, I've played UT2k4 since it was out but this gave it that extra boost of ownage, I'm very glad that I'm able to help with ideas, it'd be cool to actually see them ingame sometimes

From now on that is up to the community, the devs have moved on to other projects.

There are so many fantastic ideas buried in the idea zone, it would be terrible if they went to waste. So I hope the community will work together to bring them to life one by one; weapons, features, you name it.

Also, you can still sponsor stuff for BW, afaik.

It would be easy for a person that knows modeling and texturing.

In that case I wonder why Epic didn't use a person with those talents for making the weapon models, hmm. %-6

Runestorm easily makes the best mods I've seen for any game, and I love how you guys let many people beta-test for your mods!

so what do you do for a job while you make mods? I still haven't figured that out. I mean, until you finish whatever god game you are creating.

BW Is the best mod I Have for UT2004. each of those weapons have a story in my games. god, you can never become tired of those weapons. there was an day that I and my friend played Invasion with melee weapons. after that, with pistols.
Now we play only with ballistic weapons and the Nali(the final wave) only have energy weapons. so we get owned nearly every match.
but in a match i managed to decapitate 5 nalis with the minigun :)
The
In DM-Nam we have some really wild matches. there is no cover, so you can't hide from the Nalis/Alien queens/titans. I remember that i had to use the Plasma rifle from a dead bot, because i was sorrounded by alien queens.
the M763 is the best thing to use against Sliths and Antlions.
but we played DM too. we played some duels. lol, i sniped him with the D49 while he had an Minigun. after that, he killed me with the railgun.
I played with my brother too. while he killed me 18 times with the railgun, i killed him a lot with the mines. :)
he was going to get an Medic pack, then Boooom. :p
but i only gained 2 from 8 matches. B)
yeah, i could do a gigantic post with all my stories...
So...Thanks RS!

School systems vary from country to country, plus some people neglect the job/school to gain more time for their hobby.
