Why in the hell did the main people make the game so hard to install? Is there a simplified installation, where you JUST install, and no .INI changing, or installing in certain orders, etc. |

Uh... You just install BWv2, then BWv21, then BWBP4... Unless you want Junk Wars installed too, then you just install that before BWv2... And ini changing is only required if you run a server... most mods are like that if you run a server... Seriously, how is this so hard to install? |

I have a hard time making a server with it, trouble with the server packages and some guns not showing up even when I checked the ballistic swapping option. I suggest adding a list of serverpackages you need to add for them including the bonuspack. Just make a "sticky" thread of it so others can use. Also, isn't easier to make BW2.0 and 2.1 together and not go with the file replacement. |

lol, its not hard to install... you just need to know how to place files in their correct directories and in a simple order of 3 installs or so. |

That is easy enough if 'Use Folder Names' is flaged. |

I think Tealpug is trying to say that this simple method f installeing 3 or so programs is too hard. |

Tealpug, if you are not an advanced PC user, you will have to learn this stuff eventually. Archives and folder structures are commonly used in today's games and is the basis of installing vast majority of mods. In the case of BW all you have to to is open up each zip file with WinZip, choose to extract all files and flag 'Use Folder Names', then target C:\UT2004 (assuming that is where you installed the game) and extract. All files will be sent to their proper location within UT2004's root. Though do keep in mind that not all mod authors use folder names when they package their mods, so you'll need to remember where each file type stays in UT2004's root. (.u, .ucl and .int go to UT2004\System ; .ukx go to UT2004\Animations ; etc.) Assuming you have downloaded all 3 archives; BW 2.0, BW 2.1 and BWBP 4, it will take less than half a minute to complete the installation. Then fire up the game and have fun. |

Online gaming is not my field. |

I would consider online gaming to be a more advanced field for UT2004, since you have to keep track of the server packages for all custom mods and must know what's wrong when you get a cryptic error. |

Apart from server packages, which is essentially just a list in an ini file, online gaming is not in any way more advanced than offline. Both got their set of features to keep track of. |

when you install the .UMOD the SP's are added.. the .ZIP is pretty damn simple too.. and since we included what to add in the .ini to the readme.. how the hell is this hard?? i'm confused.. Zip files cannot add stuff to the .ini files unlike UMOD.s.. |

One alternative for zip files is to include a batch file. Strip the zip files of folder structure, tell people to extract everything to the root UT2004 folder, and then run a batch file that will move everything to the correct locations. I would guess batch files can write data to other files as well, though I don't know of any such command. |

I think the package (BW2 + 2.1) is a little too complete, there are many duplicates. During deathmatches I often end up carrying two versions of the same weapon. Oh, and Cyberax has the connection. You just need to give him a CD with the mod in its ready-to-upload form. |

Actually, this kinda sounds like something for the BWCommunity team to do. All that needs to be done is get all the content from both v20 and v21, as well as all the bonus packs together, and just get rid of the old v20 system files, right? PM me, Shadowblade and give me some info, I'll organize something. |

Oh, important. You seem to need both BCoreV2 and BCoreV21 to get the game to run. Someone probably forgot a reference or two somewhere... |

It would be far easier if DC did the final touches to separate the BCores for good. The one who wrote the code knows it best. |
