I have the BW2.0 and BW2.1 installed in my server. I have just added the BWBP4 bonus pack and it's not working? Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I added the 2 Server Packages lines required but the weapons are not showing up. I'd like to add these weapons to the server but not sure how..since I followed all the directions and it didn't work.

Can anyone help me? Please? I will even send you my Ballistics.ini if it helps any. Thanks....

Im pretty sure for the weapons to actually appear ingame you have to go into the BW swapper menu and tell the weapons which category they belong in(side arms, main weapon, etc).

Yeah I dont think there anything wrong with you ini file. It is the swapping menu that needs fixing.

Well...I'm not sure where the swap section is to change/add weapons to. All I know is that the BW bonus pack 4 is installed and the new weapons don't show up, anywhere.

In your .ini file, the swap settings are found under [BallisticV21.Mut_BallisticSwap]

Just add the BP4 weapon class names to whichever UT weapon you want it swapped with.

You can find those weapon class names in your BWBPFour.ucl and BWBPFourB.ucl files.

Ok, choose a gametype and a map to play on.
go to rules(where you set up bots and stuff), now click on BW options. you'll find anything Ballistic Weapons configurable in this menu including the swapper menu.

or you can configure the mutator

but if you are playing the BW gametypes then the mutator doesnt show up for some reason.

its because some gametypes use the mutator by default so it doesnt need to be shown in the mutator menu. i think.

another problem that popped up for me is it removed some weapons from the mod but i sorted it out by reinstalling it all

I always download the Umod version of files so installation wont be a pain and there wont be any problems

Installation is a pain with zips...?

My word, you just open up the zip and drag the folders into the UT2004 folder...

Plus UMods have a tendency to have problems. Quite frequently. But if it works for you, go for it.

And I point to my tragedy with the BWBP4 zip installation,where it had a MANIFEST.INI and I replaced my old one... Big mistake.

Oddly enough now every time I run a Umod the banner that shows up is for the BWBP4,even though it was a zip and shouldn't need one.

Why don't you guys just put everything in one package......add a readme
saying what serverpackages you should put on your Unreal.ini.

In that case you are doing something wrong.

And putting everything in one package will have two major problems surfacing. 1) Modding takes a hit, and 2) No more patches, for every update one will need to download the entire thing.

I welcome it when developers compress game content into archives (take vpp, pk4, pak, etc. for examples). But putting everything in one package does nothing good except help computer newcomers with an installation that is already a piece of cake to do.

2.1 Is still a blast, so I decided to put in the BWBP4.

After putting the files in the right place, I double checked the swapping menu, and the loadout menu as well, but to no avail did I find the new weps.

Someone had mentioned (when I looked in here) about replacing the manifest files "was a big mistake". Other than not finding the weps, there were no other problems.

You did mention using an .ini to do the swapping, but that was the same as using the config in-game.

Any other tips? (PS in case it matters, it's a mac)

PSS Although it has yet to cause any problems, would not installing JW impact this at all?

Yea,that was me,what replacing the manifest did was make any and all umod installers bug out and think that it is installing BWBP4,not to mention preventing install altogether of umods.I managed a way around it,but I still would rather use zips whenever possible from now on.

Actually... using zip has been how I've done all my files (as the mac users have found out, umod don't work for us xD)

Oh, and I did add the JW mod afterwards, which works (melee vs bots is tough when you go head on xD), but it did nothing for BWBP4 ><

But to finally get to the point, Shad0w, or anyone else for that matter, do you think switching back to the BW 2.1 Manifest files would cure the problem?

Actually,the manifest has nothing to do with getting the new weapons to work,what you must do is install JW first,then install the rest.(at least,I think that is what I did to get it to work,been a long while)

Hm... In that case, the question becomes whether it'd be easier to reinstall game, then add files, or go back by hand and remove the files (just saying that makes me wanna do the former xD)

But I think what you said may do the trick, cause after my last post I had the idea of checking out arena mode of BW gametypes, I did actually see the BP4 weps in the menu, but... setting them as the weps for the match led it to be a game wih nothing but a trans to fight with.

I must say, being killed by a trans just plain sucks for the poor fool who happens to stand there xD

Started from scratch, doing BW2 then JW, then the rest, and it's perfect!

I have to admit, whoever came up with the idea for the nova staff and the dark star REALLY put alot of thought and effort into it.

All the things they can do (plus when you unleash their full power), not to mention when the two spirits collide... I'm left speechless

Yeah, the Nova and Dark Star are awesome. It would be really cool if you could adjust the number of souls it takes to fully charge them. I could see wanting to bump them up in certain circumstances, but I would like to take them down a bit for Ballistic Conflict, since they reset when each round ends.

With conflict I see what you mean, unless the other team has 20+ souls to take, you would never get it in the 1st place. With turning it up, I can definitely see that being a must for invasion, since it'll only take the 1st wave, then you're already up and running about practically god modeing xD.

Btw, In case you guys didn't know it you can enlarge the black hole by using the plasma/iightning on it. Though having it with a larger area of a pull effect would be cool (or if u get caught, not xD)
